For players living in or traveling to Billings, Montana, a major poker tournament is on the horizon.<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>

The Roughrider Poker Circuit Montana State Poker Championship, with a buy-in of $635, will be held in Montana.\u00a0May 1st to 3rd<\/strong>\u00a0The tournament will be held. PokerNews will have a team on-site at the Billings Hotel & Convention Centre to provide live coverage of the no-limit Texas Hold'em tournament from start to finish.<\/span><\/p>

We will provide real-time tournament updates, chip counts, and detailed coverage of Montana\u2019s biggest annual poker tournament.<\/span><\/p>

Preparing for the Montana State Poker Championship<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>

Dan Burcham<\/strong>\u00a0He is last year's defending champion, who won the $29,000 prize after reaching a heads-up deal with runner-up Andrew Hilleren last year. The current Montana champion defeated a field of 283 entries, setting a new career high for winnings.<\/span><\/p>

The tournament will feature two Day 1 starting classes, the first on May 1st and the second on May 2nd. Successful qualifiers will return to the main event on May 3rd to compete for the championship. Satellite events will be available throughout the weekend for those wishing to participate in the championship at a price below the buy-in.<\/span><\/p>

Players who make it into the prize pool will receive Montana's Player of the Year points, while the champion will receive a bracelet. For players eliminated before the second day, a $250 "Second Chance" tournament will be held at noon on May 3rd.<\/span><\/p>
