Frank's advocacy for poker did not translate into legal online poker during his presidency, and the poker community has yet to fully recover from the shadow of Black Friday. However, his efforts did pave the way for states to issue their own licenses and regulate online poker sites.<\/span><\/p>

The late congressman was born on March 31, 1940, in Bayon, New Jersey. He first won a congressional election in 1980, defeating Republican candidate Richard A. Jones. He then won 12 consecutive elections until 2012 when he decided not to run for re-election.<\/span><\/p>
