Alan Keating registered for his first event at the 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP) on Saturday, but he apparently won too much money on The Lodge livestream this week to care about attending the event.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h4>
This cash game expert doesn't play tournaments often, although he still appears in a few WSOP events each year. He paid $25,000 to enter Group 1b of the #7:$25,000 Heads-Up No-Limit Hold'em Championship, but didn't play at all.<\/span><\/p>
Where is Keating?<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h4>
Keating was scheduled to face Piotr Krupa in the first round of this 128-player heads-up tournament, but he failed to show up on time. His chips had already been continuously deducted from his blinds before he called tournament staff to inform them he would be late and forfeit the match.<\/span><\/p>
This means Krupa advances to the second round, where he will face the winner between Adrian Mateos and Nikita Kuznetsov. Keating won over $1 million earlier this week in a live stream on The Lodge Card Club in Texas, but his $25,000 WSOP entry fee has now gone down the drain.<\/span><\/p>
Keating will be participating in the Hustler Casino Live Million Dollar Tournament at the WSOP on June 12, giving him a chance to win back his heads-up tournament entry fee in a single hand.<\/span><\/p>
