For one player participating in Monday&#039;s #25:$500 Freezeout No-Limit Hold&#039;em event, that way was to &quot;unexpectedly call&quot; an opponent&#039;s all-in.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><span class=\"\" style=\"color: #000000;\">This incredible hand occurred in a tournament with 4,100 players, reduced to just 103. The prize money wasn&#039;t high at that point; the next player eliminated would only take home 1TP 4T 1,702. However, the final two teams would receive a six-figure prize, making winning an all-in hand at this stage extremely valuable.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><span class=\"\" style=\"color: #000000;\">However, Douglas Cowell lost his chips in this phase, which was only slightly better than the minimum payout, all because his opponent Scott Coyle made a mistake.<\/span><\/p><h4 class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong><span class=\"\">A crazy hand at the 2026 WSOP<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h4><p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><span class=\"\" style=\"color: #000000;\">PokerNews captured video of this dramatic hand. Cowell went all-in with A\u2660Q\u2665 against Coyle&#039;s J\u26653\u2663. If you&#039;re wondering how the latter, with such a weak hand, ended up in a pre-flop all-in situation\u2014the answer is: it was a mistake.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><span class=\"\" style=\"color: #000000;\">Cowell went all in with approximately 250,000 chips, while Coyle, sitting in the small blind, was unaware of this. He simply deposited enough chips to match the big blind and verbally said &quot;call.&quot; The big blind then folded.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><span class=\"\" style=\"color: #000000;\">Because Coyle verbally declared &quot;call,&quot; even though he was unaware that a player had already gone all in, the on-site referee correctly ruled that he must deposit enough chips to match the all-in amount.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><span class=\"\" style=\"color: #000000;\">&quot;Please!&quot; Coyle shouted, standing up as he waited for the community cards to be issued. &quot;I don&#039;t care about that.&quot;<\/span><\/p><p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><span class=\"\" style=\"color: #000000;\">The flop came 9\u2663K\u2665Q\u2666, Cowell hit top pair, and his opponent with a Jack had a gutshot straight draw.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><span class=\"\" style=\"color: #000000;\">&quot;Oh God, please don&#039;t do this,&quot; Cowell pleaded with the dealer.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><span class=\"\" style=\"color: #000000;\">But the 10\u2665 on the turn made Coyle yell, &quot;Yes! Come on!&quot;\u2014he hit a straight. The 7\u2660 on the river didn&#039;t change anything, sending Cowell out of the tournament in 103rd place with $1,702.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><span class=\"\" style=\"color: #000000;\">&quot;What the hell?&quot; another player at the table said.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><span class=\"\" style=\"color: #000000;\">As of this writing, fewer than 50 players remain in this No-Limit Texas Hold&#039;em tournament. The champion will be decided on Tuesday.
