Cyndy Violette reached the World Series of Poker (WSOP) final table nine times between 1999 and 2006, and during that era, she was widely regarded as one of the world's top female poker players.<\/span><\/p>

The 2004 gold bracelet winner is currently challenging for her first WSOP final table since 2015. She made her way through Event #45: Mixed Omaha\/Stay-Hard, which attracted 587 entries. Violette, a well-known pro from the poker boom era, advanced on Day 3 with 15th place in chips, with 24 players remaining.<\/span><\/p>

The mixed event will crown a champion on Tuesday, who will receive $248,545. For Violette, winning this gold bracelet will end a 22-year title drought and will also be the second-highest prize of her career. This will also be her first significant prize since finishing 14th in the 2006 World Poker Tour (WPT) event at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, where she won $84,570.<\/span><\/p>
Violette currently resides in Las Vegas and previously owned Violette's Vegan, a vegetarian restaurant, which closed after the pandemic. She has no plans to return to the restaurant industry.<\/span><\/p>
\u201cIt\u2019s a tough industry,\u201d she said. \u201cI mean, I enjoyed it. It was a dream come true, something I\u2019d always wanted to do, so it was great.\u201d<\/span><\/p>
Violette played Texas Hold'em years ago in Atlanta, and she still plays the game she has dominated for so long. But that's not the only poker variant she's skilled at and involved in.<\/span><\/p>
"I play a lot of Omaha now," Violette said during her break on the third day.<\/span><\/p>
But she's not a big fan of No-Limit Texas Hold'em, at least not in cash games.<\/span><\/p>
\u201cI don\u2019t play that much,\u201d she said, referring to NLH. \u201cI play in big tournaments and the like. I like that. I play Pot Limit Omaha now.\u201d<\/span><\/p>
Violette says she's now more focused on cash games than tournaments, but she's enjoying a deep run in the world of poker. She's been playing "a lot of mixed games" at Wynn and South Point in Las Vegas, where she plays $20\/$40 Omaha Hi-Lo cash games.<\/span><\/p>
This seasoned player has reached the WSOP final table seven times in different poker variants, including a seventh-place finish in the $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em event in 2005. Her most recent WSOP final table appearance was in 2015, where she finished ninth in the $1,500 Razz event.<\/span><\/p>
During her second break on Day 3, Violette was down to just two big bets. But as she put it, "With these structures, you can rebuild your chips quickly." As of press time, she had advanced to the top 13 of a WSOP event for the first time since 2018.<\/span><\/p>
