Giới thiệu thí sinh
Born and raised in Ningbo, China, Dong Chen did not start his professional life with a deck of cards. He was actually a successful businessman first, and he brought that same sharp focus and ability to read people to the card table. He first got interested in poker around 2018 when he finished as the runner-up in the APPT Macau Baby Dragon event. That early success convinced him to take the game seriously and transition from a casual player to a full-time professional. He spent years playing in the major rooms of Macau and Jeju, building a reputation as a technical master before taking his game to the global high-roller circuit. Today, he is considered one of the most consistent “traveling pros” from China, frequently hopping between Las Vegas, the Bahamas, and Europe to find the toughest games.
Giới thiệu/Tổng quan về lối chơi
Chen is best known for his fearless and calculated style of play. Because he has a background in business, he is very comfortable with the technical side of the game and isn’t afraid to make huge investments when he has a strategic edge. In his WSOP bracelet win, observers noted that he used a “silent but deadly” approach, maintaining a massive chip lead for almost the entire final day by putting immense pressure on his opponents. While he can be very aggressive, he is also a very humble and polite person at the table. He prefers to let his playing do the talking and rarely gets caught up in emotional outbursts or table talk. This combination of mental toughness and technical precision makes him one of the most dangerous players to sit across from in any high-stakes tournament.
