While he originally built his bankroll in the high-pressure rooms of Macau, Lau has successfully transitioned into a global traveler, frequently cashing in Las Vegas, Barcelona, Taiwan, and Manila, proving that his game travels across any border.

Lau is known for a systematic and highly disciplined approach to tournament poker. His breakout moment came in 2017 when he defeated a field of 308 entries to win the Main Event at the Asia Championship of Poker in Macau, taking home the top prize of $692,066. His resume is filled with deep runs, including a runner-up finish in the 2019 APT Taiwan Main Event for $90,952 and a victory in the Single Day High Roller Freezeout 8 Max at the 2023 APT Hanoi Billions for $58,194.
