Originally from Germany, Tobias Schwecht moved to Vienna, Austria, to join the famous community of German poker pros living there. Like many of his peers, he started his journey in the online poker world, where he honed his skills against some of the best players on the planet. He spent years building a bankroll and studying the math of the game before making the transition to live high stakes events. While he is now a regular in tournaments with $25,000 to $100,000 buy-ins, he has never forgotten his roots as a grinder. He is known for being a very private and focused professional who treats poker like a serious business, spending countless hours away from the table studying the latest strategies to keep his edge.

Schwecht is known for a highly analytical and balanced style of play. He is a “solver-based” player who relies on a deep understanding of Game Theory Optimal (GTO) principles. This makes him incredibly difficult to play against because he rarely makes predictable mistakes. While he is an expert in No Limit Hold’em, his victory in Barcelona shows that he is also a very capable Pot Limit Omaha player, a skill that is becoming more important in the modern high stakes scene. His greatest strength is his mental toughness and resilience. During his win in the APT Super High Roller, he described the final table as a “rollercoaster,” but he managed to stay composed even after losing big pots with pocket aces. He uses a quiet, stoic demeanor at the table to avoid giving away any information to his opponents. He values stability and focus, which allows him to maintain a high level of performance during the long, stressful days of a major tournament series.

According to The Hendon Mob, Tobias Schwecht has won over $4.2 million in live tournament earnings. His career reached a major milestone in 2023 when he won the WSOP Super Circuit London Main Event. He outlasted nearly a thousand players to take home a massive $611,614 and his first WSOP Circuit ring, which remains his largest live cash to date. Schwecht is a consistent force in the “High Roller” world, particularly in the Triton Super High Roller Series. In late 2025, he secured a huge score in Jeju, South Korea, where he finished 6th in the $40,000 Mystery Bounty event for a total of $702,400 (including bounties). His resume also includes big wins on the Asian Poker Tour (APT) , where he won the Super High Roller in Manila in early 2025 for over $208,000, and an EPT Barcelona title in Pot Limit Omaha where he pocketed $149,680.
