Robertus Hollink 🇳🇱

Born in 1962 in Enschede, Rob Hollink was a talented athlete in his youth, playing tennis, soccer, and basketball. When injuries cut his sports career short, he turned his competitive drive toward gambling. He studied econometrics in college, a background that helped him approach games like blackjack and roulette with a mathematical edge. After years of traveling to casinos and even being barred from several for being too successful, Hollink shifted his focus entirely to poker in 2001. His transition was immediate, as he began winning major events in Paris and Amsterdam, eventually leading him to be inducted into the Dutch Poker Hall of Fame.

Hollink is known for a highly adaptable and technical approach to the game. While many modern players stick to one format, Hollink is a true all-around specialist who excels in No Limit Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha, and various Limit games. He relies on his deep mathematical understanding of the game and his years of experience to outplay opponents. At the table, he is a calm and professional presence, often using his “old school” wisdom to stay patient while younger players get aggressive. His ability to adjust his strategy across different poker variants is what has allowed him to stay a top-tier professional for over 20 years.

According to The Hendon Mob, Rob Hollink has won over $4.3 million in live tournament earnings. He made history in 2005 by winning the very first EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo, where he defeated a field of 211 players to take home a career-best $845,190. This victory instantly turned him into a national hero in the Dutch poker scene. In 2008, Hollink added to his legacy by winning his first WSOP gold bracelet in the $10,000 World Championship Limit Hold’em event for $496,931. This win made him the first Dutch player to ever capture a WSOP bracelet. His trophy cabinet is filled with dozens of other titles, including a WPT High Roller win in Amsterdam and a victory at the Master Classics of Poker. Even in 2025 and 2026, he remains a top competitor, recently picking up several deep runs and a high roller victory at the Asian Poker Tour (APT) in Taiwan for over $13,000.
