Originally from Peru, Paredes began his poker journey approximately a decade ago, transitioning from a recreational interest to a dedicated professional pursuit. He has become a staple of the Asian poker scene, frequently traveling to the Philippines, Vietnam, and South Korea to compete in premier tours like the Asian Poker Tour (APT) and the Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT). His 2019 APT victory was a significant milestone, representing his fourth appearance at an APT Main Event final table and solidifying his reputation as a formidable opponent in the region.

Paredes is known for a disciplined and adaptable tournament style, emphasizing position and stack-relative strategy.
