Originally from Vietnam , Huu Dung Nguyen lists his profession as a businessman but has established himself as one of his country’s most formidable poker talents. He is a member of the Vietnamese National Match Poker Team, representing his nation in international competitions like the Asian Nations Cup. His long-standing presence on the tour – dating back to major wins in 2017 – demonstrates his longevity and ability to adapt to the increasingly tough fields in Asia.

Huu Dung Nguyen is known for his resilience and “psychological” approach to the game. He enjoys the mental challenge of poker and has a reputation for navigating large fields and making comebacks, as seen when he famously went from the shortest stack to the winner in an APT event. His recent transition to High Roller events (Triton, APT HRs) shows he is comfortable competing against the world’s elite.

According to The Hendon Mob, Nguyen has accumulated over $1.36 million in total live earnings, placing him 7th on Vietnam’s All Time Money List. He achieved the biggest score of his career in November 2025 at the APT Championship Taipei 2025 . Competing in the inaugural High Roller Championship, he finished as the Runner-Up after a heads-up battle with Toby Joyce, taking home a massive TWD 11,935,700 (~$382,555). Nguyen is also a two-time APT champion. His titles include a victory at the APT Philippines Championships Event in 2017 and another APT side event trophy.
