Originally from Shanghai, China, Wang’s path to professional poker is a classic story of a successful career transition; he previously worked as a paralegal before quitting to pursue poker full-time. He first picked up the game in 2011 while studying at university in London, where he primarily played cash games. Wang began recording live tournament results in 2016 and quickly found success in Asian hubs like Macau and Jeju. Competing in Event #68: $3,000 No-Limit Hold’em, he outlasted a massive field of 2,338 entries to secure his first gold bracelet and a career-best score of $830,685. His success in 2025 extends to the Asian high-stakes circuit, where he performed exceptionally well in South Korea. In February 2025, he finished 4th in the KRW 14,500,000 No Limit Hold’em Super High Roller at Poker Dream 16 Jeju for KRW 148,800,000 ($103,336).
