Maurice Hawkins, the record holder with 25 WSOP Circuit rings, finally has his best chance to win his first gold bracelet at the $600 Mixed Event final table. He will face off against top players such as Daniel Negreanu and Alex Foxen.
The most insane final table in the history of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) with a $600 buy-in event will kick off Tuesday night, featuring two of the greatest players in WSOP history – Maurice Hawkins and Josh Reichard.
Even more incredible: two of the greatest high-stakes pros in history—Daniel Negreanu and Alex Foxen—were at the same table. Essentially, it was a clash between the best of high-stakes and mid-stakes tournament history, vying for a WSOP gold bracelet.
As the final table approaches, another storyline is unfolding—and you definitely don't want to miss PokerNews's live updates—that Hawkins has a chance to finally win his first gold bracelet, having already won a record 25 tour rings.
A final table you can't miss

You may have your own opinion about Hawkins—he's a controversial figure in the poker world—but the fact that one of the greatest players in WSOP Circuit history now has a chance to win a gold bracelet is noteworthy in itself. Hawkins has reached the final table of Event #28: $600 Deepstack NLH/PLO Mixed Event, which attracted 3,332 entries. He has already secured at least $18,854 in winnings, but his goal is to win the $204,140 first-place prize.
Hawkins just won his 25th WSOP ring last month, earning $113,223. He has a total of 308 WSOP earnings (including both WSOP and off-tournament events). But he is still chasing that elusive first gold bracelet, a goal that could be achieved on Tuesday.
However, winning the gold bracelet at this final table won't be easy, as there are many top players, including two future Poker Hall of Famers. Hawkins will enter the final nine with fifth place in chips. Reichard holds a narrow lead over Brent Gregory, while Foxen (fourth place) and Negreanu (seventh place) remain in contention.
Because of the star-studded final table, the WSOP decided to move it live. Therefore, the final table will be broadcast with a significant delay after the dinner break. But this is a tournament you'd be willing to stay up all night to watch (or get up early, depending on your local time). Hawkins may have his critics, but he'll have the opportunity to silence them—and do it live.
