Daniel Negreanu finished eighth in the toughest $600 WSOP final table in history. Daniel Negreanu finished eighth in the $600 Deepstack Mixed Event final table, which featured top players such as Alex Foxen and Maurice Hawkins, making it arguably the strongest lineup in WSOP low-stakes history.

It's not surprising to see Daniel Negreanu and Alex Foxen making it to the deep stages of the WSOP... but that's not usually the case in a $600 event.

In Tuesday's $600 Deepstack Mixed Event (NLH/PLO), the elite players truly emerged with only nine players remaining. Some of the biggest names in poker, carrying substantial stacks, led the massive field of 3,332 entries.

The champion will receive $204,140 and a gold bracelet, so even by the standards of high-stakes events, there are very generous rewards to be won.

Here is one of the craziest final table lineups ever seen in an event of this size, looking far more suited to a $25,000 level event than a typical casual player influx.

Negreanu has never won such a large-scale WSOP event.

For the "poker prodigy" with seven WSOP gold bracelets, winning this tournament would be his biggest WSOP event to date.

Compared to the 3,332 participants in this event, his 2008 WSOP $2,000 Limit Hold'em victory remains his largest WSOP event win to date, with 479 participants. Incidentally, Negreanu's winnings that year were $204,874, almost exactly the same amount he would have earned if he had won today.

In many ways, this summer has been frustrating for Negreanu so far. His only two winnings have come from championship-level events: the $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Low Stud and the $25,000 Heads-Up Championship, both highlighting how rare it is to see him reach such depths in a $600 event.

Winning his eighth gold bracelet in a field of thousands is undoubtedly a powerful rebuttal to anyone who thinks the Canadian athlete is past his prime.

The Foxen family is ubiquitous, both advancing into the deeper layers.

Over the past few days of the WSOP, it seems that no matter where you look, you'll see a Foxen with a huge pile of chips in front of him.

Alex Foxen is the chip leader in this $600 event at the time of writing, and he hopes to add another bracelet to his family's collection this week. Just days ago, his wife, Kristen Foxen, won the $25,000 High Roller event.

Like Negreanu, if Foxen wins this tournament, it will be the biggest WSOP event he has ever won. He won the bracelet at the 2024 WSOP Online PLO $200K GTD Mystery Bounty Six-Handed Table with 466 players.

For Foxen, one of the most recognizable and consistent players in the high-stakes tournament scene, winning a title in a large, low-buy-in arena would signify a championship title that is quite different from what he has been used to in the past.

Is this the strongest final table in WSOP history with $600?

With over 50 WSOP Circuit rings and 10 WSOP gold bracelets on the table, this is certainly the most luxurious final table lineup ever for a low-stakes WSOP event.

With Negreanu, Foxen, Maurice Hawkins, mid-stakes GOAT Josh Reichard, and other top players, this event looks set to be an incredible showdown tonight.
