He nearly won the opening event, finishing as runner-up in Event #1:$5,300 PLO, losing to Sam Soverel and winning $79,625. He then finished ninth in Event #2:$5,300 PLO, followed by another ninth place in Event #4:$10,500 PLO Quattro Bounty. The trophy came quickly when Kronwitter defeated Richard Gryko heads-up in Event #5:$10,500 PLO, winning $201,600 and his first victory in the series.
