Kamehameha, Space-X, and The Dance Wind have been the first to confirm their participation in the 2026 Red Dragon Team Championship.
The Red Dragons team competition is about to return to Jeju Island to reignite the flames of battle.
As one of the most anticipated featured events of the Red Dragon Cup PLUS, the third Red Dragon Team Tournament will officially kick off on July 8th and 9th, 2026 in Jeju Island, South Korea.
This tournament has a maximum of 36 teams, with an entry fee of 2 million Korean won per team. An early bird bonus is also being offered: teams that register before June 20th will receive 8 nights' accommodation at an official partner hotel and exclusive custom-made team uniforms.
As registration continues, the three teams that have confirmed their participation have officially made their debut. From renowned commentators and professional coaches to main event champions and international powerhouses, each team has demonstrated the strength and ambition to compete for the championship.
Kamehameha Team: Commentators and Coaches Join Forces
First up is the highly popular "Kamehameha Team".
Team captain Wang Yifan is a long-time active member of the Chinese-language poker scene, not only a familiar face at the Red Dragon Cup but also a well-known tournament host and frequent guest on entertainment programs. He will lead the team as captain, hoping to leverage his extensive tournament experience and strategic planning abilities to help them achieve excellent results.
Another highlight of the team is the Red Dragon Cup's official commentary – a kind of mystical approach.
As the founder of Poker Planet and a well-known poker content creator, Xuanxue has five years of experience as a professional poker player and four years of experience as a professional coach, and enjoys a high reputation and influence in the Chinese poker community.
In addition, Jiang Tianxing and Yang Guangzu, two strong players active in major Asian competitions, have also joined the lineup.
For the first time, four longtime friends are teaming up as a group. It remains to be seen whether they can translate their teamwork into victory.
SpaceX Team: Main Event Champion Leads the Charge for Glory
Another team that has garnered much attention is the Space-X team.
Captain Li Weiwei delivered an outstanding performance in the Red Dragon Cup PLUS series in April this year, winning:
8th place in the Super Speed Race
7th place in the Speed High Roller
3rd place in the bounty competition
It exhibits extremely high stability.
The biggest highlight of the team is undoubtedly Xue Jiawen.
The newly crowned Jeju Island champion is in excellent form and is considered by many players to be one of the most threatening players in this team competition.
In addition, both Lok Ying-kong and Chen Ao have extensive experience in major tournaments and have repeatedly made it into the prize money.
Looking at the overall roster, Space-X may not have the most dazzling star lineup, but it has a fairly balanced and stable strength, and is considered by many players to be one of the favorites to win this year's championship.
The Dance Wind Team: A Powerful Japanese Team Makes a Strong Debut
As the first overseas team to confirm their participation, the Japanese team "The Dance Wind" should not be underestimated.
This team brings together four strong players who are active in competitions in Japan, Vietnam, and Jeju Island.
in:
Nakagawa Daisuke
He won the championship in the Red Dragon Cup PLUS #51 Super Speed Race.
Fukagawa Yuki
He successfully made it into the money at the USOP Osaka Mini Main Event.
Kogami Yoshiki
He once finished 15th in the APL Osaka Main Tournament.
Yoshimochi Kazuyuki
He finished as runner-up in the USOP Ha Long Bay, Vietnam Super Speed Race.
The team's core philosophy is "BLUFF," and they excel at controlling the game by changing the pace of the game and psychological warfare.
When facing unfamiliar opponents, they are often able to create advantages through flexible tactics, and are therefore considered one of the most threatening international teams in this tournament.
Why is the Red Dragon Team Tournament so popular?
Since the inaugural Red Dragon Team Competition was launched in July 2025, this event has quickly become one of the most distinctive signature events of the Red Dragon brand.
Unlike traditional individual competitions, team competitions are even more demanding:
Teamwork skills
Tactical arrangements
Team Composition
On-site response capability
Especially since the final stage is being held simultaneously:
8-player SNG single-table tournament
Double Relay Hunter Race
One-on-one elimination tournament
The three competition formats will be implemented simultaneously, and the standings may be overturned at any time.
This is why each team competition is full of drama and uncertainty.
The stories of past champions are fascinating.
Looking back at the past two team competitions, almost every one has produced some truly memorable stories.
