Regional newsOn August 28th, the 2026 CPG Sanya Grand Finals concluded its ten-day competition. The Main Event, having shrunk from 3,972 entries to a final nine, saw the nine finalists return to the table to compete for the annual Main Event title and the coveted "Golden Dragon" trophy. Ultimately, Luo Jiajin defeated Yang Rui heads-up to become the CPG Sanya Grand Finals Main Event champion. This year also marks the 14th anniversary of the CPG brand. From the nearly 4,000 entries in the Main Event to the numerous tournaments that crowned champions over the ten days, this Sanya Grand Finals served as a crucial finale to the CPG annual series. With only nine players remaining from 3,972 entries, the final table officially opened at 12:00 noon on August 28th. After four rounds of elimination, the final nine players from the 3,972 entries entered the Final Table. Before the final table began, Luo Jiajin was already in first place with 19,300,000 chips, but the chip gap between Wang Zexuan, Chen Wenwen, Xu Sucai, Yang Rui, and others was not yet significant, so the championship situation remained highly unpredictable. Entering the final day, Luo Jiajin quickly began to extend his lead. He eliminated two players in succession, while Zhou Yi finished in 8th place at level 37 with blinds of 400,000/800,000/800,000. Dai Binning held A♥Q♥ and went all-in pre-flop against Luo Jiajin's 2♣2♦. The community cards were: 5♥ 9♠ 5♠ 8♠ J♠. With pocket 2s, Dai Binning maintained his lead and became the first player eliminated from the final table, finishing in 9th place. Shortly after, Luo Jiajin was eliminated again. This time, he held J♠J♣ against Zhou Yi's Q♣K♥. Community cards: A♦ A♠ 4♠ 6♦ 7♦. Zhou Yi failed to hit a winning hand and ultimately finished in 8th place. Luo Jiajin, on the other hand, took down two opponents early in the final table, further building his chip lead. Wang Zexuan finished in 7th place, while Xu Sucai, who went all-in, was eliminated in 6th. At level 38, the blinds rose to 500,000/1,000,000/1,000,000. Wang Zexuan, who had lost a lot of chips in the previous all-in duel, was now in a short-stacked state. He held A♣J♥ in his final hand and went all-in pre-flop against Xu Sucai's K♥K♣. Community cards: Q♥ J♠ 2♠ 10♦ 9♥. Xu Sucai's pocket kings ultimately won, and Wang Zexuan finished the Main Event in 7th place. At the same level, three players went all-in: Lin Yarong held Q♥10♣, Xu Sucai held 10♦10♥, and Luo Jiajin held J♥J♣. The community cards were 8♣ 2♥ Q♠ 2♣ 8♥. Lin Yarong hit the Q on the flop, eventually tripling up; Xu Sucai failed to get the 10 to overtake and was eliminated in 6th place. Chen Wenwen doubled up with four of a kind through the backdoor, eventually finishing in 4th place and leaving the tournament. After entering the five-handed stage, the game became a long and drawn-out affair.
