David Peters and Dylan Linde Debt Allegations: Pro Poker Player Responds to $50 Million Prize Money Debt Scandal

David Peters responded to allegations in a lengthy tweet that he refused to pay nearly half of a $50,000 debt owed to Dylan Linde that was nearly a year overdue.

Linde, one of the world’s top tournament players, claims that Peters (whose total winnings on The Hendon Mob are close to $50 million) agreed to give him a share of the poker during the Triton Poker tournament last year.

The investment ultimately ended in a loss, leaving Peters owing Linde $50,000 in stock dividends. The high-stakes legend finally made a partial payment several months later. According to Linde, he made another payment a few months later, then stated on April 1st that he was unable to pay the remaining approximately $23,000. Two days later, Peters gave his own account.

A poker pro player shared his perspective.

Peters responded to these debt allegations on the X platform. He began by saying that he deeply regretted "the choices he made that led him to distrust me and to make this public."

"I'm sure it wasn't easy for him to do this, and I really shouldn't have let things get to that point," Peters continued in his first tweet.

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner and high roller tour regular explained that he was trying to "settle the remaining amount as quickly as possible" and apologized for "handling the situation very poorly." He also expressed his understanding of Linde's "frustration."

At the end of his four-part tweet, Peters stated that his focus was on "doing things right and working to regain the community's trust." He made no excuses and expressed remorse. While he didn't explain why he hadn't fully repaid his debts, he vaguely stated that he was in "a terrible situation where I kept doubling down, making things worse, and at the same time, my communication was terrible, causing me to miss deadlines."

Peters and Linde have long been two of the most respected members of the high roller circuit. These tweets didn't provide a specific timeline or method for repaying the debt, but it seems he is indeed making a serious effort to pay off Linde's debt.
