GTO Wizard Ambassador Espen Jorstad wins his third WCOOP championship.

GTO Wizard Ambassador Espen Jorstad won his third WCOOP title in WCOOP 02-H: $1,050 PKO Warm-Up. He defeated the Finnish opponent in heads-up play, with a total prize of $33,250.

Espen Jorstad is no stranger to excelling in high-profile tournaments—the GTO Wizard ambassador is best known for winning the 2022 World Series of Poker (WSOP) $10,000 Main Event World Championship.

Nevertheless, he also excelled in smaller online tournaments. Unlike the 8,663-player field he defeated four years ago, he beat 154 opponents in the WCOOP 02-H: $1,050 PKO Warm-Up to win his third WCOOP title.

Jorstad, competing under the alias "SamSolverel," won $14,359, bringing his total $18,891 to 33,250. This victory, achieved after missing out on the title last year, marks another win in this year's first tournament, adding to his winning streak for 2023 and 2024. The series continues until September 30th, giving him ample time to further build his record.

One-on-one duel

He defeated Finnish player realsuhisjii in heads-up play, overcoming a 4-to-1 chip deficit to win the trophy and a prize of over 30,000 chips ($). As Jorstad shared with his followers on his Instagram story, he completed a crucial double-up – his KQ beat his opponent's KJ on the kicker, and then he made a straight with A4 on the river to take the chip lead.

After gaining a chip lead, he 3-bet pre-flop with AK and continued betting on all three streets, going all-in after making two pair on the river. His opponent called for tournament life, but his K7 made two pair on the turn and was overtaken, ending the tournament with Jorstad as the winner.

Among the other players at the final table, Austrian player Leonard “Grozzorg” Maue finished in sixth place, earning a total of $5,759 including the prize money; Brazilian player Joao “Jbiancoloni” Biancolini finished in eighth place, earning $4,727, failing to add to Brazil's five championships this year.
