Grosvenor National Poker League: Can Bryan Taylor's lead be challenged?

Bryan Taylor leads the Grosvenor National Poker League with 442.02 points, followed closely by Brandon Sheils and Mariusz Czech. The high roller and low-stakes leagues are highly competitive, and the GUKPT Luton event will offer plenty of points opportunities.

With 2026 entering its final third, over 3,400 players have already accumulated points in the Grosvenor Casino National Poker League (NPL) by participating in qualifying events and earning prize money. Bryan Taylor (442.02 points) leads all players in points.

Taylor held the top spot for most of 2026, and with only four months left in the year, those chasing him will have to work incredibly hard to catch up. Taylor experienced a surge in popularity between March and May, during which time he widened the gap with the trailing group.

During those three months, Taylor made 10 final table appearances, including three wins and seven five-figure prizes.

Brandon Sheils' outstanding performance at the GUKPT Goliath festival propelled him to second place in the current NPL rankings, although he is still about 120 points behind Taylor, who seems untouchable.

Sheils won the £1,500 High Roller (£54,130) and two days later finished as runner-up in the £2,000 Super High Roller (£31,500). These impressive results are enough to propel Sheils to the top of the High Roller league standings; more coverage to follow.

Mariusz Czech (313.57 points) was in third place in early September, and based on his current trend, he has a chance to win a package tour worth £20,000 by the end of the year.

Yucel Eminolgu (312.00 points) and Robert Douras (304.37 points) are currently in the ranking range to receive the £15,000 live poker package, while Calogero Morreale (287.13 points), Aqeel Butt (278.55 points) and Keith Littlewood (277.58 points) will receive the £10,000 package if the NPL ends today.

Top 10 in the National Poker League (NPL)

Sheils hold a narrow lead over Taylor in the High Roller League.

While Brandon Sheils trails Bryan Taylor in the National Poker League, he currently holds the narrowest lead in the High Roller League. Sheils leads the standings with 117.84 points, closely followed by Taylor with 115.94 points.

Chris Balmforth (76.76 points), Peter Stewart (55.39 points), and Conor O'Driscoll from Ireland (52.60 points) are other high-scoring players currently in the prize money rankings.

Robert Douras leads the race for the top prize in the low-stakes league.

Robert Douras's ability to accumulate winnings in qualified events with buy-ins of £300 or less has propelled him to the top of the low-stakes league leaderboard. Douras (365.79 points) recently added to his rankings by reaching the final table at the GUKPT Goliath Music Festival.

Any Grosvenor leaderboard would be incomplete without Bryan Taylor's name. The Scottish player currently holds second place with 315.68 points.

Calogero Morreale (258.15 points), Helder Casaca-Sena (173.18 points), Mariusz Czech (168.50 points), Philip Tate (165.43 points), Aqeel Butt (164.72 points), John Bousfield (156.01 points), and 2026 Goliath champion Damon Burch-Hyson (153.74 points) are currently in the prize money rankings, closely followed by Lee French (152.23 points).

A points feast awaits players at GUKPT Luton.

The Grosvenor British Poker Tour (GUKPT) is currently being held in Luton, and the tight schedule means players have the opportunity to accumulate National Poker League points. The GUKPT will head north to Leeds later this month, while the 888poker UKPL Manchester Music Festival is sandwiched between these two Grosvenor events, meaning the current rankings could change dramatically by the end of September.
