Michael Addamo easily wins high roller tournament after returning to online poker.

Michael Addamo returned to the GGPoker 10,000 GGMillion High Roller after a two-year hiatus, overwhelmingly defeating players such as Pedro Neves to win £423,610 in prize money and his ninth GGMillion title.

Whenever Michael Addamo appears on the poker circuit, he always wins—it seems to have become the norm.

This top-tier player, who had taken a break from live and online tournaments, appeared on GGPoker's... $10,000GGMillion$ He won the High Roller event, taking home $423,610 in prize money. World Champion Lucas Jumalon and GG Ambassador Jeff Gross provided commentary during the final table livestream.

Addamo had largely missed live poker tournaments in the past two years, but he displayed complete dominance at the final table, showing no signs of rustiness and eliminating seven of his eight finalists, including runner-up Pedro Neves.

Addamo feels hot

Addamo was ranked third before entering this event with over $8.6 million in GGMillion$ winnings and eight wins. Artur Martirosian was at the top of both categories with $11.1 million in winnings and 13 wins.

At the start of the final table, Neves held a narrow lead over Guillaume Nolet. All the other remaining players were at a significant disadvantage. But Addamo began his offensive with pocket kings, winning a huge pot against Nolet's top pair.

This hand changed everything at the final table, as it propelled the most dangerous player into the chip lead. Things got even worse when the high-stakes superstar won a coin flip, eliminating ninth-placed Nguyen Vi ($52,951).

Luck was clearly on the side of the eventual champion—just ask Aliaksandr Shylko. He went all in with a larger Ace, Addamo called with a smaller Ace, and Shylko lost, finishing in eighth place ($68,669).

Addamo did experience a setback in the four-handed game when he held pocket aces, and Nolet went all-in with Qx2x on a 4x4x2x flop and hit a 2 on the river to double up. Despite the bad beat, Addamo had already amassed such a large chip stack that he still held more than half the chips on the board.

Xuanyi Wang attempted to double up with Qx7x when only three players remained, but failed to beat Addamo's KxJx. Neves found himself at a significant disadvantage at the start of heads-up play. To make matters worse, Addamo received pocket aces in the first hand but failed to make any action.

Despite this, his opponent only had 12 big blinds, but he doubled up when he went all-in with Kx3x and beat 10x4x. Neves was still down 6-1, but in the next hand, he set a trap, limping on the button with A♥Q♠. Addamo fell for it, going all-in with 8♣7♣.

This best pre-flop hand was in a better position on the turn, with the board showing 2♥K♣3♥J♥. But the river 8♦ gave Addamo a pair, ending the game. If Neves had won that hand, he would have returned to the tournament. Instead, he finished in second place with $326,647.
