Originally a “Korean-born New Yorker,” Calvin Lee spent significant time grinding the prestigious high-stakes cash games in Macau before shifting his focus to tournaments. He currently resides in Seoul, South Korea, where he is a central figure in the local professional community, often seen with friends like StarCraft commentator Dan “Artosis” Stemkoski. Lee’s transition from cash games to tournaments has been seamless. Unlike many “old school” pros who faded, he has adapted to the modern game, evidenced by his recent domination of the “Superstar” branded events across Asia.

Calvin Lee is known for a fearless and aggressive “street poker” style that often confounds GTO-heavy opponents. His background in deep-stacked cash games allows him to navigate post-flop situations with unique creativity. This was perfectly illustrated during his heads-up match against Daniel Neilson at APT Taipei 2025, where he made several “audacious” calls – including a tournament-defining hero call with second pair against a massive bluff – to secure the title. His ability to switch between patient accumulation and high-variance pressure makes him a dangerous opponent in any High Roller field.

With over $6.9 million in total live earnings according to The Hendon Mob, Calvin Lee has firmly established himself as a force in the global High Roller arena. While he first made headlines by winning a WSOP Bracelet in 2016 in the $3,000 6-Handed No-Limit Hold’em for $531,577, his career reached new heights in 2025. His largest recorded live cash of $1,185,000 came in March 2025 at the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Jeju, where he finished runner-up to Anatoly Filatov in the $25,000 WPT Global Slam. He followed this with a spectacular run on the Asian Poker Tour (APT) , winning the APT Superstar Challenge in Incheon (August 2025) and the APT Superstar Championship in Taipei (November 2025) for TWD 18.7 million (~$595,000).
