Mehdi Chaoui, born in 2001, was introduced to poker at the age of 18 while studying in France. He initially dabbled in online poker under the pseudonym "Carence en L," quickly progressing to live tournaments. In early 2023, at just 22 years old, his exceptional talent led to his recruitment by Team Winamax, where he played alongside world-class players like Adrián Mateos. Despite his young age, Mehdi is renowned for his maturity and professionalism. His career-high live poker winnings are $473,000, earned from a runner-up finish in the Triton Poker Series Mystery Bounty Event (buy-in $20,000 + $2,400 + $20,000) in Jeju Island, South Korea in September 2025. Recent notable victories include winning the BSOP $20,000 Super High Roller event on his first trip to Brazil, taking home $315,000. In April 2025, he finished as runner-up in the $10,400 Million Poker Classic in Cyprus, winning $300,000. Also in April, he won the $3,300 No-Limit Hold'em Deepstack event in Cyprus, earning $32,040.
