Mr. Chung was born in Hong Kong and later moved to the UK, where he quickly became a mainstay of the local poker scene in Birmingham and Nottingham. His first live tournament victory came in August 2012 when he won the £150 buy-in deep-stack tournament at the Dusk Till Dawn, earning £15,373. Over the past decade, he has risen from a local hero to a formidable international competitor, achieving impressive results in numerous major tournaments, including the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas, the Triton Poker Series in Korea, and the Triton Poker Series in Cyprus.

Mr. Zhong is known as a tenacious and aggressive competitor. In the 2024 WPT UK, he entered the final table with a massive chip lead—more than double that of the second-place finisher—and skillfully used this advantage to dominate the game, ultimately winning heads-up in just 16 hands. His strategy typically involves applying sustained pressure and making high-level decisions at smaller tables and in the final table. Besides No-Limit Texas Hold'em, Mr. Zhong has also demonstrated considerable skill in other formats, most recently finishing as runner-up in the Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO) Quick Knockout event at the 2025 WSOP International Circuit.

Timothy Chung's total live tournament winnings are approximately US$2,836,935 (Henton Gang), ranking him 11th on Hong Kong's all-time poker winnings list. He achieved a major milestone in 2025 when his highest single-game winnings reached US$637,250, helping him surpass the US$2 million mark in career winnings. His proudest victories and best results include: 2025 MCOP Main Event: €203,800 (approximately US$236,386) in Amsterdam; 2024 WPT UK Championship: Champion, winning £57,660 (plus tournament qualification plus a US$100 World Championship qualification); UK Tour Main Event: Third place, £97,065; 2024 GUKPT Grand Finals: Fourth place, £29,520; Genting Poker Series Newcastle (2014): Champion, £32,815.
