The RunGood Poker Series Gold Tournament in Maryland will be held at MGM National Harbor from September 21-27. The Main Event guarantees $1,300, with a $250,000 main event and 12 ring events. PokerNews will be providing live coverage.

The RunGood Poker Series (RGPS) is bringing the Gold Expedition to the East Coast – the RGPS Gold Expedition Maryland will be held from September 21 to 27 at MGM National Harbor, Maryland.

This seven-day series includes 12 ring events, culminating in the $1,300 Main Event with a guaranteed prize pool of $250,000. PokerNews will be providing live coverage of the main events from the field.

Top poker rooms on the East Coast

MGM National Harbor is a major hub for poker players on the US East Coast, boasting one of the largest poker rooms east of the Mississippi River. PokerNews visited the venue earlier this summer and provided a brief overview of this impressive location.

Now, the RunGood team is about to move into MGM National Harbor. The series will kick off on September 21 with a $300 team ring event, with an entry fee of $150 per person. Many familiar faces from RunGood are expected to be in attendance.

Highlights of this series include the $400 Senior NLH Ring event, which guarantees $25,000, and the $400 PokerNews PowerStack Ring event, which features two preliminary rounds and guarantees $50,000.

Mixed game enthusiasts also have plenty of options, including the $500 Five Card PLO Ring Tournament and the $500 Big O Ring Tournament.

The $1,300 main event will begin on September 24th, featuring three preliminary rounds. The champion of this guaranteed $250,000 event will be decided on the second day, September 27th.

On the same day, the series will conclude with the $500 Black Stack Bounty NLH Ring event, guaranteeing $25,000 black chips, and the $300 Final NLH Ring event.

Last Maryland Station Review

The RunGood team visited MGM National Harbor earlier this year to compete in the 2026 RGPS Passport Maryland event in April. The series' $1,300 Main Event attracted 307 entries, with a total prize pool of $349,980.

In the April RGPS Passport Main Event, Arash Asadabadi defeated John Major to win $73,037 and his first RGPS ring. Asadabadi entered heads-up play with great confidence, and his confidence paid off.

"I felt this championship was my turn. From the very beginning of the tournament, I felt I would win," he told PokerNews. "I don't know why, even when we were discussing the prize money in heads-up, I said, no, I'm pretty sure I'll win. Sometimes it's just like that, you have to believe it."

The final table also included the glamorous RunGood ambassador Julie Cornelius, who, dressed in a fluffy fur coat, could easily be mistaken for Penny Lane from Almost Famous.
