On August 28th, the 2026 USOP Ha Long Bay, Vietnam, entered its second day of competition, with the series continuing to gain popularity. The focus of the day was on the Crazy Opening Events A and B, which attracted a total of 181 entries, with 23 players ultimately securing their places in the next stage.

Chinese player Jia Yuequan, nicknamed "King of Pingnan," performed exceptionally well in Group A, sealing the bag with 455,000 chips. He not only became the chip leader in Group A but also won the exclusive 40 million VND chip leader prize. In Group B, Vietnamese player DO TRONG TIEN led with 595,000 chips, also securing an additional 40 million VND prize.

Group A had 101 participants, with 13 advancing to the next round.

The Crazy Opening Tournament Group A started at 10:30 a.m. local time, and with the registration deadline approaching, a total of 101 people participated.

According to the tournament structure, there are 16 prize pool spots in Group A, but only the last 13 players can successfully advance. Therefore, the competition will continue to eliminate players after the prize pool bubble bursts.

Qian Xiaoyang finished in 14th place; the list of 13 players advancing has been finalized.

After the bubble burst, there were 14 players left on the field, and only 13 of them could qualify for the next stage.

The key hand occurred in the big and small blind showdown, with Chinese player Qian Xiaoyang holding 3♥5♦ against Vietnamese player K♣Q♣.

Jia Yuequan becomes the chip leader in Group A with 455,000 chips; multiple Chinese players advance.

With a crucial pot in the latter part of the game, Jia Yuequan eventually accumulated 455,000 chips, sealing the bag as the first-place finisher in Group A.

In addition to advancing, he also received the exclusive 40 million Vietnamese dong reward for being the chip leader in Group A.

Chinese players Chen Raorao and Zhou Haonan also successfully advanced from Group A, securing their spots in the next stage.

Group B had 80 participants, with DO TRONG TIEN leading with 595,000.

After Group A finished, Group B continued until later local time.

Group B ultimately recorded 80 participants, with a total of 12 prize pool spots and 10 qualifying spots.

Ultimately, Vietnamese player DO TRONG TIEN accumulated 595,000 chips, becoming the chip leader in Group B and winning another 40 million VND chip leader prize.

Chinese player Su Jing ranked high with 405,000 chips and successfully advanced.

With the conclusion of the two starting groups, the Crazy Opening Tournament has now accumulated 181 entries, with 23 players securing qualifying spots.

The Crazy Opening Tournament will then include three starting groups: C, D, and E, with the overall number of participants and the qualifiers expected to expand further.

The start time for many high-stakes matches has been uniformly postponed to 12:30.

In addition to the table battles, the USOP also announced important schedule adjustments.

Many matches originally scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m. will be changed to start at 12:30 p.m., involving several high-stakes and high-guaranteed matches from August 30 to September 7.

Mini HR Big GTD cancelled

In conjunction with the overall schedule rescheduling, the Mini HR Big GTD Mini High Roller event, originally scheduled for the same day and guaranteed at least 1 billion VND, has been cancelled.

Participants need to reconfirm the times of each event according to the latest schedule announced by the USOP, especially since many subsequent high roller events have been postponed from 11:30 to 12:30.

Crazy Opening Matches: Groups C, D, and E Take Over

After the second day of competition at the USOP Ha Long Bay, the crazy opening round has produced 23 qualifiers from 181 entries.

Jia Yuequan became the chip leader in Group A with 455,000 chips and won an additional 40 million Vietnamese dong, while DO TRONG TIEN took first place in Group B with 595,000 chips. Chinese players Chen Raorao, Zhou Haonan, and Su Jing have also successfully qualified for the next round.

The next day of competition will feature Groups C, D, and E competing simultaneously. With more starter groups joining, the final size of the Crazy Opening Tournament and the overall progress of Chinese athletes will be the main focus of the USOP Ha Long Bay event going forward.
