Day 3 of the WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star Championship has concluded, setting the six-handed final table. Quoc Mai leads with 10,165,000 chips. The final table will take place at Wynn Las Vegas on December 15, with $470,500 going to the champion.
All 584 entrants dreamed of becoming a true “Shooting Star” in the WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star Championship. But only six players now remain in contention for that title.
Day 3 at Bay 101 in Northern California played down to the final table, but the final table will not be held until December 15. It will move to Wynn Las Vegas during the WPT World Championship festival, the season-ending event of the World Poker Tour—a three-week series featuring the $3 million guaranteed Super Gold Million Championship and the WPT Prime Championship.
Final Six Set
There were 55 players remaining at the end of Day 2, including 12 Shooting Stars—players designated with special $2,500 bounties. By the end of Day 3, Shawn Daniels was the only Shooting Star still alive, as well as the only member of the WPT Champions Club still in contention.
Daniels has more than $3.5 million in live tournament earnings and will begin play in Las Vegas with 3,000,000 chips, fourth on the leaderboard. He trails chip leader Quoc Mai by a considerable margin, as Mai holds 10,165,000 chips. Chahn Jung follows closely with 9,075,000 chips.
Final Table Chip Counts
Ziao “Zeo” Guo sits third with 4,095,000 chips. Guo is one of the most active players in Hustler Casino Live history, having appeared on the show nearly 100 times since HCL began airing in 2021.
Daniels is fourth, followed by Eric Zheng, who will return to action in December with 2,065,000 chips. William Davis is the shortest stack with 700,000 chips and will likely be a target for Mai and Jung early at the final table.
After Jeremy Menard finished seventh as the final-table bubble boy, all six players are guaranteed at least $94,000. But the winner of this storied World Poker Tour event will take home $470,500.
The final table will be live streamed from Wynn and is expected to be a marathon battle. Although Davis has only a fraction of the chip leader’s stack, he still has 18 BB. Mai and Jung each hold more than 220 BB, while Guo is in a favorable position with more than 100 BB. With four big stacks in play, even Zheng, who has 52 BB, has no reason to feel pressure.
