The schedule for the WPT World Championship Festival at Wynn Las Vegas has finally been released, and this year's event is bigger than ever before.
From November 27th to December 21st, a total of 85 events will be held, ensuring that tournament players of all money levels can find something to suit their style. All major tournaments, such as the WPT World Championship and the WPT Prime Championship, will return. However, the $10,400 buy-in World Championship features a major change – the World Poker Tour has added a mystery bounty worth an additional $1 million.
WPT World Championship Festival Highlights
Wynn's series kicked off with a $600 No-Limit Hold'em event, guaranteeing a prize pool of $400,000, and concluded a little over three weeks later with a $600 No-Limit Hold'em Turbo event.
During this period, poker players can find multiple tournaments daily, covering a variety of poker variations, including No-Limit Texas Hold'em, Pot-Limit Omaha, TORSE, Mixed Triple Draw, Omaha/8, and Big O. Buy-ins for the series range from $400 to $25,800, covering almost all price ranges, a stark contrast to the concurrent WSOP Bahamas Series, which primarily targets high-stakes players.
The WPT World Championship Festival at Wynn Resorts is entering its fifth year, hosting the $1,100 WPT Prime Championship from December 5th to 12th, with a guaranteed prize pool of $5 million. Aaron Johnson, the defending champion, defeated 9,876 entrants to win the $1,010,400.
Another major event is the $1,100 Women's No-Limit Hold'em Championship. This year's event will begin on December 13th, with a guaranteed prize pool of $250,000.
There's also a brand new and important event: the $400 Super Gold Million, guaranteeing at least $3 million in prize money. This event is a live version of the regular Gold Million on the ClubWPT Gold poker website, but with three times the guaranteed prize money. WPT Executive Circuit Director Matt Savage confirmed on X that the Super Gold Million will be held from December 10th to 14th and will be a live-only event.
The biggest event in the series, as in previous years, is the WPT World Championship with a $10,400 buy-in. Players who advance well into this increasingly prestigious annual tournament will also receive a mystery prize of $1 million. The tournament begins on December 13th with three Day 1 preliminary events. Day 2 will take place on December 16th, with the live-streamed final table scheduled for December 20th.
Skyler Thornton dominated the final table last year, winning the 2025 WPT World Championship and a prize of $2,098,456, defeating 1,865 entrants.
