888poker LIVE UK Poker League Third Stop: Reading

The third stop of the 888poker LIVE UK Poker League (UKPL) will be held in Reading on July 13th, with a guaranteed prize pool of £100,000 for the Main Event and a buy-in of only £90 for the satellite events.

The 888poker LIVE UK Poker League (UKPL) will return on July 13 after a short break. The last UKPL event was held in Blackpool in early May; now it's Grosvenor G Casino in Reading's turn to welcome hundreds of tournament players.

UKPL tournament and satellite tournament buy-ins are relatively affordable. Players who have participated in UKPL events will be familiar with how the events work, as 888poker ensures that every event is exactly the same, allowing players to enjoy a consistent experience no matter where they compete.

2026 UKPL Reading Schedule

A £90 buy-in satellite tournament will kick off on July 13 at 7:00 p.m. BST, guaranteeing five seats for the £250 No-Limit Hold'em Starter and the £560 UKPL Reading Main Event.

The first target event – the £50,000 Initiation Race – will kick off on July 14th at 12:00 PM BST, with three starting groups. Groups B and C will play their first day on July 15th, and the champion will be determined on July 16th.

Yi Gu, the defending champion of the Initiation event, emerged victorious from a field of 243 players, winning £8,768. Gu later reached the final table of the Main Event.

Players with a larger budget can participate in the £1,100 No-Limit Hold'em High Roller event on July 16th. The event guarantees a prize pool of £50,000. Last year, Jack Hardcastle topped the field of 53 players, turning his £1,100 into £17,620.

£100,000 Guarantee for UKPL Reading Main Event

The 888poker UKPL Reading Main Event, with a buy-in of £560 and a margin of £100,000, is the highlight of the six-day tournament. The first group will begin on July 16 at 3:00 PM BST. Groups B and C will start on July 17 at 1:00 PM BST and 6:00 PM BST respectively, and the fourth and final group, Group D, will begin on July 18 at 12:00 PM BST.

All UKPL Reading Main Event players will begin their journey to glory with 50,000 chips and can re-buy an unlimited number of times. Blinds will increase every 30 minutes in Groups A and C on Day 1, and every 40 minutes in Groups B and D. Day 2 (starting at 12:00 PM BST on July 19th) will maintain the 40-minute increments.

The 2025 UKPL Reading Main Event attracted 334 entries, creating a total prize pool of £158,650, which was shared by the top 48 players.

Jack Hardcastle, along with Nick Eastwood, Ian Simpson, and Josh Manley from 888poker, all won prize money but failed to make it to the final table.

Players who reach the final table receive at least £3,000, with the top four earning five-figure prizes. Champion Dale Wilson won the coveted UKPL Main Event trophy and £30,000 in prize money, still his third-highest live score of his career.
