Reclaiming the Razz Championship after eight years
The 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP) will once again witness the dominance of mixed-game masters.
In Event #48:$10,000 Razz ChampionshipIn the tournament, American star Calvin Anderson defeated a field of 123 competitors to win the championship, taking home $306,644 in prize money and his sixth WSOP gold bracelet.
This is Anderson's second WSOP $10,000 Razz Championship title, following his victory in 2018, further proving his top-level ability in the Razz event.
From leading on Day 1 to having the last laugh
This year's competition attracted 123 participants, with a total prize pool of US$1,143,900.
Anderson displayed a strong performance from the beginning of the competition, advancing as the scoreboard leader at the end of Day 1.
Entering Day 2, he maintained his stable performance, continued to expand his advantage, and finally entered the final table as the overall leader.
Unlike many champions who need to stage a comeback in the later stages, Anderson was in the title race almost from start to finish, demonstrating extremely high consistency.
The final table was filled with formidable opponents.
Although Anderson led the way, the competition at the final table was still fierce.
The eight-player final table lineup includes:
Eric Rodawig (2011 WSOP Main Event Player of the Year)
Max Kruse
Philip Sternheimer
Yuval Bronshtein
Tobias Leknes
Todd Dakake
Shane Littlefield
Several skilled mixed-game players.
Eric Rodawig is Anderson's biggest rival on his road to the championship.
The two players exchanged the lead multiple times during the final table, keeping the match suspenseful throughout.
Champions clash in one-on-one battle
After several hours of intense fighting, Anderson and Eric Rodawig successfully advanced to the one-on-one match.
Rodawig himself has extensive experience in Razz and Stud tournaments and has won a WSOP gold bracelet, so this match is considered by many players to be one of the most valuable one-on-one matches in this Razz Championship.
At the start of the heads-up match, the score difference between the two players was not significant.
However, Anderson gradually established his advantage through his profound understanding of Razz structures and his precise decision-making.
In the final hand, he successfully defeated Rodawig and officially secured the championship.
Rodawig won second place and a prize of $204,438.
Sixth gold bracelet in his career
This victory brings Anderson's WSOP gold bracelet count to six.
His six gold bracelets came from:
2014 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo Championship
2014 $1,500 Mixed Event
2016 $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo Championship
2021 $1,500 Razz
2018 $10,000 Razz Championship
2026 $10,000 Razz Championship
For many years, Anderson has been regarded as one of the world's most comprehensive hybrid gamers.
Winning the Razz championship again further solidifies his position in the hybrid game genre.
He admitted after the match that it was of great significance.
In a post-match interview, Anderson said the championship was particularly special.
He felt a sense of fulfillment because he had won the same event in 2018.
He frankly admitted:
"It's really special to win this championship again."
Anderson also mentioned that Razz has always been one of his favorite poker games, so winning the gold bracelet again makes it all the more precious.
