After erasing huge losses, the political candidate then lost another $1 million poker pot. Former U.S. House candidate Scott Palmer Fuhrman recovered nearly $600,000 in losses during a live broadcast at Hustler Casino Live, but lost a full house to Keating's four of a kind in the last hand, losing more than a million dollars.

A former U.S. House candidate experienced a brutal baptism of fire in a poker game on Hustler Casino Live Thursday night. He turned the tide in a single hand, only to lose it all back (and even more).

Scott Palmer Fuhrman, who ran for Congress twice (in 2016 and 2018) as a Democrat, made his debut on this popular live show, competing against Alan Keating, Nik Airball, Peter Wang, Brandon Steven, and other high-stakes players.

Fuhrman, who used the pseudonym Palmer during the live stream, performed poorly for most of the match and appeared frustrated. About seven hours into the game, he went all-in with top pair against Peter's nut straight, having already lost $578,000. But minutes later, the former political candidate and business owner's fortunes began to turn.

Poker Roller Coaster Night for Politicians

Palmer lost many big pots, although he won an early $500,000 pot with top pair when his opponent "Ace" folded a smaller pair to a $300,000 bet on the turn. But he lost far more big pots than he won, including a hand where he held 7♠7♦ on a flop of 2♠5♣4♠.

"Big Mike," holding 3♥3♣, checked and raised to $150,000 against a $35,000 bet, successfully executing a semi-bluff. Later in the game, Palmer, who had previously lost a large sum of money, received K♦K♣ and called Steven's all-in bet of $435,000 with A♦K♥. Both players agreed to be dealt twice, and Palmer won both times, his expression immediately changing.

Half an hour later, the congressional candidate defeated Keating's middle pair with two pairs, winning a $200,000 pot. This brought Palmer back to nearly even in less than an hour after losing nearly $600,000.

Palmer then faced off against the show's main attraction, Keating, in a big pot. Most Hustler Casino Live viewers expected the highlight of the live stream to be the competition between Keating and Peter. However, a former political candidate stole the show and had the opportunity to snatch chips from Keating.

At the start of this crucial hand, Palmer limped to $2,000 from the button with A♥J♥. Keating raised to $22,000 from the draw with J♣3♦. After one call, the flop came 3♣A♠3♥, a nemesis hand.

Keating bet $35,000 with three of a kind, and was then raised to $115,000, which he called. The turn card, a 3♠, gave Keating four of a kind, so he checked. Palmer, holding a full house, also checked and saw the river card, a Q♥.

This time, Keating didn't play slowly. He bet $390,000, which made Palmer jump out of his seat. Twenty seconds later, Palmer called, only to receive bad news—he lost a pot of $1,057,500, completely wiping out all his previous comeback efforts.

"I just can't get away from it. I can't get away from anything lately. I can't get away from anything, I knew it all along. I knew you'd play bad hands," a tilted Palmer muttered to himself as he walked around the table after a $1 million pot.

Palmer continued cursing as he quit the game, ultimately ending the live stream with a loss of $658,500, while Keating won $818,000.

Fuhrman (Palmer) ran for the Democratic nomination for Florida's 27th congressional district in 2016 and made the general election. However, he lost to incumbent Republican Representative Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, who easily defeated the poker player by nearly 10 percentage points. Palmer then attempted to run for the same political position again in 2018 but withdrew from the race in June 2017.

Hustler Casino Live will host the second day of its "Mega Cash Mania" event at the Hustler Casino in Los Angeles this Friday at 2 p.m. Pacific Time.
