Lose another poker room on the Las Vegas Strip

Regional news

The poker landscape on the Las Vegas Strip is shrinking once again. Resorts World announced that its poker room will officially close on March 29, 2026, becoming the second poker room on the Las Vegas Strip to cease operations this year. The room had 29 tables since opening in 2021 and had hosted the PokerStars NAPT series. However, with Las Vegas tourism declining by more than 81 TP3T in 2025, the poker market has also been affected. Nevertheless, major events such as the WSOP and Wynn Millions continue to attract a large number of players, indicating that the Las Vegas poker ecosystem remains vibrant.

Jeremy Becker staged Slowroll with AA!

German anecdotes

In the 2026 PokerGO Cup, Jeremy Becker's classic hand in Event #9 elicited laughter from the entire audience. Holding pocket aces (AA) against John Riordan's pocket kings (KK), he deliberately took a long time to think and interact with his opponent before going all-in, staging a funny slowroll. Becker eventually called and successfully hit triplets on the flop to double up, while Riordan was eliminated shortly afterward. This cooler AA vs. KK hand became one of the most talked-about hands of the year.

In the 2026 PokerGO Cup Event #8: $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em event, Florida pro Filipp Khavin emerged victorious, winning the $2 10,000 prize and securing his second title in the series. He had previously won Event #2, becoming one of the few two-time PokerGO Cup champions in this year's event. The final table featured renowned pros such as Ben Grise, Andrew Lichtenberger, Nicholas Seward, and Darren Elias. Khavin ultimately defeated Ben Grise heads-up, securing the victory with a runner-runner flush. He currently leads the series standings with 443 points, slightly ahead of Brock Wilson, who also has two titles. The PokerGO Cup still has one final event remaining: the $15,000 Championship.
