The World Poker Tour (WPT) has announced the postponement of the Lodge Wildcard: Wacky Weekend of Poker event, originally scheduled for March 13-15 at The Lodge Card Club. The WPT stated in a social media announcement on Tuesday that the postponement was due to "unforeseen circumstances beyond the WPT's control that affected the operation of the event." The official announcement also stated that new dates would be announced later. Shortly after this decision was announced, it was confirmed that Texas authorities had raided the poker club, an event that quickly drew attention within the poker community. Hunter Poker confirmed with relevant authorities that the Texas State Police and the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) raided The Lodge Card Club on Tuesday morning. This poker club, located in Round Rock, is currently the largest poker room in Texas and is jointly owned by renowned poker professionals and content creators Doug Polk, Andrew Neeme, and Brad Owen. Notably, this enforcement action occurred approximately 16 hours after the conclusion of the Lodge Championship Series Main Event. According to player reports online, those present were asked to take their chips home and redeem them once the club reopened. One player on Reddit stated that law enforcement required some players to show identification before allowing them to leave. The official reason for the action has not yet been clarified. This marks the second WPT event postponed this month. Earlier this month, the WPT also announced the postponement of the $1 million guaranteed $1,100 WPT Prime Cyprus Championship. Originally scheduled for March 5-9 at the Chamada Prestige Hotel & Spa, the event was postponed due to the escalating military conflict involving Iran, with organizers citing security concerns and logistical issues related to staff travel. While the Prime Championship main event was cancelled, the entire event continued, culminating in another $1,100 event.
