Celebrity Poker Tour | Caitlyn Jenner's first serious attempt at poker ends in Las Vegas invitational tournament, leaving her outside the prize pool.

On September 6, 2026, former Olympic gold medalist Caitlyn Jenner will shift her competitive stage from the track and field to the poker table, participating in the Celebrity Poker Tour (CPT) Invitational XIII in Las Vegas.

For Jenner, this was almost her first real experience participating in a full poker tournament. Before the tournament, she jokingly called herself a "pro poker player" to PokerNews, and then admitted that she had only played poker a few times many years ago.

This CPT trip was not just a celebrity appearance, but also her first attempt at officially getting involved in tournament poker.

I only received poker instruction the day before the tournament.

Caitlyn Jenner does not have extensive tournament experience.

According to PokerNews, she had just received a poker lesson at PokerGO Studio the day before the tournament and then immediately started playing CPT Invitational XIII.

This tournament is by invitation only, and the champion's prize money is:

$15,000

The lineup of participants consists of athletes, online creators, and reality TV personalities. The overall positioning is different from traditional professional high roller tournaments, emphasizing entertainment and celebrity crossovers.

Sitting at the same table as Holly Madison, the special table was full of star power.

Jenner spent a significant portion of the evening sitting at the same table as another reality TV personality, Holly Madison.

Madison also told PokerNews that she was just starting out with poker. However, unlike Madison, she had previously received guidance from five-time WSOP bracelet winner Jeff Madsen.

The special table where Jenner was also located also included:

• Former NBA guard Nate Robinson

• Content creator Camilla Araujo

• Tana Mongeau

• Final champion N3on

For a newcomer with almost no formal tournament experience, this table offers considerable exposure and competitive pressure.

Jenner talks about his understanding of poker: Go forward, but stay cautious.

Despite her limited experience, Jenner still participated fully in the competition that night.

She shared her understanding of poker with PokerNews, the core concept of which is:

We must move forward, but at the same time remain cautious.

She also mentioned that the game ultimately comes down to getting the right cards.

While this understanding still leans towards a beginner's perspective, it also reflects that during her first official competition, she had already begun to explore basic concepts such as risk control, offensive rhythm, and hand strength assessment.

Ultimately, the reward circle is outside the final stop.

Jenner ultimately failed to make it into the prize pool.

The original article did not provide her specific elimination ranking, number of chips, or details of her last hand, so this article will not add any additional unconfirmed information.

For her, the focus of this competition was more on experiencing a live poker tournament for the first time, rather than achieving a breakthrough in results.

Caitlyn Jenner's CPT participation overview

Holly Madison is also embarking on her own poker journey.

Jenner wasn't the only rookie in this competition.

Holly Madison also stated that she has only just begun to truly engage with poker, but had previously received guidance from Jeff Madsen.

This also gives the Celebrity Poker Tour a unique character compared to traditional professional tournaments: many participants are highly famous but lack poker experience, making the event an important entry point for celebrities to get involved in poker.

Kylie Jenner actually prefers playing poker.

Interestingly, Caitlyn Jenner revealed that poker is not her main interest in life, but her daughter Kylie Jenner is quite fond of the game.

Caitlyn said Kylie was quite unhappy when she learned that Kylie was participating in the CPT while she herself was not present.

Kylie Jenner had previously partnered with Vanity Fair in 2026 to launch "Hot Girl Poker" content, introducing poker to hundreds of millions of social media followers.

This also means that the Jenner family's connection with poker is no longer just a one-off celebrity event.

Timothée Chalamet has also been described as "very good at poker".

PokerNews also mentioned that Kylie Jenner may have been influenced by her boyfriend Timothée Chalamet to get into poker.

Chalamet was once described by his co-stars as "very good at poker".

Caitlyn stated:

Kylie and Chalamet both enjoy playing poker.

However, when asked about Kylie's card skills, Caitlyn admitted that she had never played with her at the same table and therefore could not directly judge her ability.

Celebrity poker continues to be a gateway for traffic outside the poker community.

In recent years, the Celebrity Poker Tour has continued to bring poker to a wider entertainment audience by having athletes, actors, reality TV personalities, and online creators participate.

What makes Caitlyn Jenner's appearance special is that she didn't start as a skilled player, but rather participated in the official tournament as a near-beginner.

Although she ultimately failed to make it into the prize pool, this CPT experience allowed her to truly transition from "occasionally playing" to officially participating in the competition, from pre-competition tutorials and hands-on practice at special tables to full participation.

As celebrities like Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet continue to connect with poker, celebrity poker may remain an important window for the game to reach a wider audience.
