Poker music festivals that banned sunglasses and masks are back, with total guaranteed prize money exceeding $10 million.

The Onyx High Stakes Series will be held in Cyprus from August 7th to 16th, with a total guaranteed prize pool of over $10 million. Sunglasses and masks are prohibited, and free accommodation will be provided.

The world’s top poker players are set to gather at the Merit Royal Diamond in Cyprus for the Onyx High Stakes Series, with guaranteed prize money exceeding $10 million in No-Limit Hold’em and Pot-Limit Omaha events.

With the series expected to attract both elite and recreational players, Onyx has established clear tournament conditions in advance. One of these is a restriction on face coverings: players are not allowed to wear sunglasses, masks, scarves, or any items that intentionally obscure their faces when holding their hole cards in their hand.

This is one of several tournament rules that have been confirmed ahead of the tight nine-day schedule (August 7-16).

Over $10 million in guaranteed bonuses

In poker tournaments, the Onyx High Stakes Series once again delivered impressive results in the high-stakes market of the live circuit. The festival's buy-ins ranged from $5,200 to $50,500.

The tournament kicks off with the NLH Premiere, a guaranteed 1TP 4T 5 million prize pool, featuring multiple starting groups and culminating in the final day. Following this, stakes will be increased to the NLH Main Event, a 1TP 4T 25,500 buy-in, also with a guaranteed 1TP 4T 5 million prize pool.

The Onyx High Roller Tournament is the most expensive event in the tournament schedule, with a buy-in of $50,500. Players can enter all of the above events through satellite tournaments. Premiere qualifiers start at $2,200, and Main Event satellite tournaments start at $5,200. Players can also win a seat in the Onyx High Roller Tournament for the same price.

PLO enthusiasts also have the opportunity to participate. The $5,200 PLO Bounty Tournament is a one-day event held on Sunday, August 9th, followed by the $10,400 Mystery Bounty Tournament with a guaranteed prize pool of $1 million.

Each event uses a timer from the start and allows re-buys during each registration period. As always, the tournament schedule will be supplemented by exclusive high-stakes cash games, a hallmark of the Onyx Festival.
