BabyPoker is coming! Daniel Negreanu announces he's about to become a father. Daniel Negreanu and his wife Amanda announced they are expecting their first child, due at the end of November. He was eliminated in a WSOP event by a tough opponent but will continue to participate in subsequent events.

For years, fans have followed Daniel Negreanu's every moment in the World Series of Poker through his video blog. However, this week, the seven-time WSOP bracelet winner shared something far more personal than tournament updates or high-stakes game recaps.

At the beginning of his latest vlog, Negreanu can be seen lightly reading "New Father: A Guide to Dad's First Year".

That's right. "Poker Boy" is about to become "Poker Dad"!

BabyPoker will be launched at the end of November!

Negreanu and his wife Amanda Negreanu revealed that they are expecting their first child. The couple, who married in 2019, shared the news in a vlog, which also included a video of an ultrasound scan.

“We’re going to announce this to everyone,” Daniel said. “You’re the first to know,” Amanda added. “We’re fifteen weeks pregnant.”

The camera then panned to Amanda's belly, but the couple explained that there was a reason why her baby bump wasn't visible yet.

“We found a wonderful surrogate mother, and she’s doing a fantastic job,” Daniel said. “She’s really amazing,” Amanda shared.

According to Negreanu, becoming parents was something they had been preparing for over the past few years, including changing their lifestyles.

"Over the past year or two, we've prepared ourselves for parenthood like we never have before," Negreanu said, jokingly mentioning their past late-night, late-morning routine.

"I think the time is right. I think we're officially ready... We've been preparing for this for a long time," they both said.

The couple also revealed that they are expecting a boy, with the due date set for the end of November. PokerNews extends its warmest congratulations to the Negreanu couple. We can't wait to see the future "BabyPoker".

How will Negreanu perform at the 2026 WSOP?

In addition to the news of her pregnancy, Negreanu has already begun her 2026 WSOP journey. She got off to a good start in Event #2:$5,000 8-Max No-Limit Hold'em, and was one of the chip leaders early on Day 2, before encountering her first brutal nemesis of the summer.

With the prize money bubble about to burst, Negreanu seemed poised to win his first prize of the series, but his pocket aces ran into Ryuta Nakai's top trip on the flop.

On a board with 10♠7♠4♣6♣, Nakai bets, and Negreanu then goes all-in with A♣A♦. Nakai instantly calls with 10♥10♦ (top triplets), but the river card 9♣ fails to save Negreanu, eliminating him before the bubble bursts.

Shortly after his elimination, the bubble burst, and the final 86 players locked in a minimum prize of $9,947.

Nevertheless, fans won't have to wait long to see Negreanu return to the tables. According to his WSOP schedule, he is expected to participate in the #5:$5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha event, which started on Thursday, May 28th at noon.
