Regional Poker NewsThirteen years in the making! Danny Allen started from a garage and created the No Tilt Poker Tablets favored by celebrities.
From his own garage to a celebrity favorite, Danny Allen's passion for poker and woodworking led him to found No Tilt Poker Tables, creating some of the most custom poker tables in the US.
When it comes to the "Poker Beard," Danny Allen of Arizona is undoubtedly a top contender. After all, his nickname is "The Poker Beard." Similarly, when it comes to poker tables, his company, No Tilt Poker Tables, is among the best in the poker world.
No-Tilt Poker Tables are not only ubiquitous in the poker room of The Arena at the Talking Stick resort, but they're also a favorite of celebrities like Jelly Roll and Sean O'Malley. So how did a customized table evolve into a game-changing business?
In its latest issue of "Industry Insiders," PokerNews decided to find out more by interviewing Allen.
Who is Danny Allen?
Jelly Roll and Suga Sean both love using it! No Tilt Poker Tables has won the hearts of celebrities and poker enthusiasts with its exquisite craftsmanship and customized services.
Allen was born in England, but moved to Florida with his family when he was seven. He fell in love with baseball in high school and even went on to play professionally in Europe. During his travels to countless countries (an experience Allen says "has really shaped who I am today"), Allen met the love of his life, Gia, and they have been together ever since.
With zero experience and zero budget, Danny Allen built a million-dollar business. He proved that passion and perseverance can create miracles with just his two hands and a poker table.
After his baseball career ended, Allen and Gia moved to Arizona to be closer to Gia's family. There, Allen worked for the military company USAA for 13 years and had two children, Cooper and Gibson.
As for poker, Allen's father taught him and his brothers how to play when they were young.
"With my baseball background, I've always been competitive, and poker has allowed me to continue chasing gold rings, trophies, and bracelets," he said. "I'm a full-time tournament player. I sometimes enjoy playing cash games, but the ups and downs and volatility of tournament poker are unparalleled! Like everyone else, I love competing in the WSOP every summer and really enjoy playing in as many WSOP Circuit events as possible."
More than just a poker table, it's a display of taste and attitude. No Tilt Poker Tables offers players a top-tier poker table experience; each table is a unique work of art.
According to The Hendon Mob, Allen's career tournament winnings exceed $445,000. This includes his career-high score of $61,350 for a 59th place finish at the 2022 WPT World Championship. More recently, Allen excelled at the Talking Stick Casino Major Series of Poker: The Tour (MSPT) Diamond Poker Championship, finishing 40th out of 3,220 entries and earning $11,700.
No Tilt Poker Tables
Although Allen is an accomplished player, he made his name in the industry by building some of the best poker tables on the market.
"The origin of No Tilt Poker Tables is simple: I wanted a cool poker table for myself and the family games I host," Allen confessed. "I've always loved entertaining guests, and I wanted something stylish and professional. My wife and I had just bought our first house, and there was a perfect spot for a poker table. But after comparing prices, it was clear that a cool, custom-made poker table was beyond our budget."
Despite having absolutely no woodworking experience, Allen set out to build his first poker table, which soon made its debut in a family game he hosted.
"Everyone found it hard to believe that I made that table by hand. Several regular customers asked me to make tables for them, and the rest is history. Over the next few years, I made nearly 100 tables by hand in our garage on weekends and in my spare time, and it was clear that this was something we could scale up and have a lot of fun doing."
Thirteen years later, No Tilt Poker tables have spread to casinos and poker rooms across the country, as well as countless tables custom-made for family gamers and some of the most famous celebrities (including Jelly Roll, Suga Sean, Aaron Donald, Cal Raleigh, and more) (check out No Tilt Poker tables' Instagram for more stories).
No Tilt Poker Tables can be found in homes across the United States and Canada, as well as in casinos (such as Talking Stick Casino) and poker rooms (such as The Lodge in Austin, Texas, OG Clubhouse, and Triple Barrell Social in Kentucky).
“The biggest difference is that I’m a poker player first and foremost, and my passion for the game is reflected in our work and the way we handle every order,” Allen said. “I make sure to speak personally with every client who orders a table from us. We discuss the atmosphere of their game, how they want the game to feel, and we truly tailor the player experience to each client. These aren’t just poker tables; they are a statement of who we are, what we love, and the people who sit around them.”
Players understand players. Danny Allen is not only a poker table manufacturer, but also a seasoned player who has competed in the WSOP and WPT, and he deeply understands the importance of the details at the poker table.
