GTO Wizard releases major update to PLO solver

GTO Wizard has released a major update to its PLO solver, including fully customizable heads-up strategies, node locking, post-flop ICM solving, and a faster solving engine.

It may have only been a few months since GTO Wizard launched its Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO) product, but the development team has already rolled out a series of major updates, adding several new features. Read on to learn more.

First, heads-up PLO is now live, and it's fully customizable from pre-flop to the river. This update allows PLO players to nodelock their opponents' mistakes before creating player profiles for practice. Users can now solve real post-flop ICM situations in regular tournaments and bounty tournaments and analyze them using an expanded pre-flop database.

Some of the major updates since the introduction of the PLO solver in GTO Wizard include:

• Solving the one-on-one problemNow there are fully customizable heads-up strategies from pre-flop to the river.

• Node lockingIt allows you to simulate and exploit your opponent's mistakes.

• ICM after flippingTake your PLO tournament game to the next level with a tournament solution that allows you to configure prizes, chip stacks, and bounties.

• Learning UpgradeImproved filtering and subcategorization, a brand-new pre-flip matrix, and detailed tags make learning PLO easier than ever before.

• Trainer upgradeThe trainer has been upgraded to include multi-table functionality, practice modes, a new information panel, and performance-related statistics.

• Engine upgradeThe solution is now faster and more accurate.

• New solutionGTO Wizard has expanded its pre-flop database for cash games and MTTs.

The newly added fully self-selectable PLO solver alone justifies the GTO Wizard subscription fee. As GTO Wizard states in its latest blog post:

"Heads-up is the most skill-intensive format in poker. Most hands must be played, so advantages are amplified because there's nowhere to hide. Every mistake, every imbalance, every exploitable tendency becomes much more apparent in heads-up."

Node locking helps you exploit your opponent's mistakes.

Most PLO solvers teach users how to execute balanced strategies, but thanks to the PLO functionality in the GTO Wizard, it is now possible to learn how to exploit opponents' unbalanced strategies and profit from their mistakes.

Frequency locking allows PLO users in the GTO Wizard to set policies on a single node. Once a range of frequencies is applied, the powerful engine finds the least exploitable way to achieve the desired frequency.

"For example, if your opponent isn't 3-betting enough in heads-up play, reduce their raising frequency in the node-locked menu and then observe how the small blind punishes them with a wider pot opening."

Learn from predefined and fully trainable player profiles, or create your own.

Player profile options take things to another level. These profiles impose a persistent, exploitable bias on the player at every decision point. There are eight preset player profiles: familiar GTO opponent, fish, calling station, maniac, TAG regular, LAG regular, nit, and Glass Cannon; the latter is an aggressive but cautiously defensive type.

Once set up, these player profiles will be applied to every street, meaning users can play a full hand against a madman in the trainer and then apply another filter to see the difference in perfect strategy.

GTO Wizard is now faster than ever before, and much faster.

The GTO Wizard blog details other key upgrades to PLO in GTO Wizard, but one thing in particular caught PokerNews's attention: the engine's faster solving capabilities.

Because the engine must perform a large amount of calculations, the solver needs powerful computing capabilities. GTO Wizard is not only satisfied with having the best and most accurate engine; it also wants the fastest engine.

We're not sure how they did it, but GTO Wizard's technical team has made solving every street of their PLO product much faster. PLO river situations are now solved about twice as fast as when it was first launched, while maintaining the same 0.1% pot availability.

In addition to being faster, GTO Wizard also increases the maximum allowed decision tree size to accommodate deeper stacks.

Furthermore, GTO Wizard achieved several technological breakthroughs during the development of its PLO product, which have been applied to its Texas Hold'em solver. These improvements have increased the solving speed for No-Limit Texas Hold'em by 3 to 6 times without sacrificing accuracy!

PLO5 and mobile device support are under development.

As you can see, GTO Wizard, despite having an excellent product, is not the kind of company that rests on its laurels. The team is working day and night to bring users new and exciting features, including five-card PLO, an expanded pre-flop database, aggregated reports, and mobile device support.

While there is no specific timeline for the release of these new features, you can be assured that the next GTO Wizard NLHE or PLO upgrade won't keep you waiting long.
