Jamie Gold and Bruce Buffer hosted the 14th annual Variety Kids Charity Poker Tournament at Paramount Pictures in Los Angeles, raising over $250,000 to help children with disabilities and special needs.

For the 14th consecutive year, the Variety Kids Charity Poker Tournament in Los Angeles was a resounding success in late July, once again receiving enthusiastic responses.

The event, held at Paramount Studios and co-hosted by 2006 WSOP Main Event champion Jamie Gold, raised over $$250,000 for Variety Children’s Charity in Southern California, which helps children with disabilities, special needs, and developmental challenges.

Gold brings a star-studded lineup to this event every year, and this year is no exception. Numerous celebrities from outside the poker world joined in, with co-host Bruce Buffer—an avid poker enthusiast—opening the tournament with his signature "it's time" slogan.

Fighting for charity

As always, the event offered attendees delicious food, a cash bar, casino games, and two poker tournaments (high and low stakes). Ryan Feldman and Kyle "Raver Poker" Ravreby from Hustler Casino Live were also in attendance, along with another world poker champion, Michael Mizrachi, and numerous television and film stars.

Gold told PokerNews that one of the most special moments of the evening was the presentation of six custom-made bicycles to six Variety children. These bicycles represent not only mobility, but also independence, confidence, inclusivity, and the simple joy of riding with friends and family. Every year at the event, Variety children receive custom-made bicycles purchased through donations, making it one of the highlights of the evening for all attendees.

Variety is the highest-rated charity for effective donations on Charity Navigator, delivering 85% donations directly to families in need. The charity has raised millions of dollars through this poker event over 14 years and has become an annual July event for Paramount Pictures in Los Angeles.

Not all attendees chose to participate in the poker tournament; many came for the food, drinks, or casino games. But everyone came together to contribute to charity. This invitation-only event sells out every year, with 800 guests gathering to enjoy a wonderful time.

Gold's Poker Night at Paramount had 50 sponsors, including Paramount, Disney, Universal, MGM, Regal, and Dolby. Essentially, all the major television and film production brands wanted to participate in this special night.

Many celebrities were present, including Peter Facinelli, Billy Burke, Mekhi Pfifer, Ray J and Princess Love, Nick Gonzales, Roger Cross, and Tony Dennison. Everyone gathered to give back to the children.

For many years, Variety has provided over $2 billion globally to help and support children and their families facing developmental challenges. Through more than 300 programs in 20 countries, the charity provides critical resources such as healthcare, mobile devices, and educational opportunities to over 45 million children. Gold, one of the most legendary champions in WSOP Main Event history, has hosted the event for 14 years.
