Jason Daly won the 2026 WSOP $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo event.
Jason Daly wins his third WSOP gold bracelet.
The 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP) will crown a new champion once again.
Texas professional poker player Jason Daly won the Event #4: $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better title, earning his third WSOP gold bracelet and a first-place prize of $191,362.
The tournament attracted 828 participants, with a total prize pool of $1,099,170. After three days of intense competition, Daly ultimately defeated Dorian Rios from Venezuela in the heads-up match to claim the top spot on the podium.
This is also one of the most watched mixed game champions in the early stages of this year's WSOP.
Winning her third gold bracelet in three years
Jason Daly has gradually become an important figure in the WSOP hybrid gaming scene in recent years.
In 2023, he won his first WSOP gold bracelet by winning the $3,000 Limit Hold'em event; he won his second gold bracelet in 2025, and this year he successfully completed his third title.
In a post-match interview with PokerNews, Daly admitted that he has been aiming for a gold bracelet in recent years.
He said that when he first decided to fully commit to the WSOP Summer Tournament three years ago, he told himself that he must win a gold bracelet, and now he has accumulated three titles, which has far exceeded his expectations.
The final table was a long and arduous battle.
Although Daly entered the final day with a chip lead, the final table was not easy.
Dorian Rios held nearly half the chips at one point during the five-handed stage, becoming the favorite of the night.
However, as the game progressed into the second half, Daly gradually regained control of the situation.
During the three-player stage, he successfully regained the lead and engaged in a long one-on-one duel with Rios.
Because of the unique format of Omaha Hi-Lo, which often results in a tie in the pot, the chip counts of both players go back and forth frequently, making the outcome of the championship always suspenseful.
Ultimately, Daly gained the upper hand in the crucial hands and successfully finished the game.
Legendary veteran Perry Green reaches the final table
Another major figure in this event was 90-year-old WSOP legend Perry Green.
Green won his first WSOP gold bracelet back in 1976, and it has been nearly 50 years since then.
He made it all the way to the final table and even has a chance to win his fourth gold bracelet.
Green ultimately finished sixth, winning a prize of $30,973.
His ability to compete at the WSOP final table at the age of 90 has earned him the respect of many poker players.
Vanessa Selbst also advanced to the next round.
Besides Perry Green, triple crown winner Vanessa Selbst also became a focus of attention.
She fought her way to the final stage, but was stopped in ninth place when she encountered pocket kings and her opponent's AA in the final table bubble.
As one of the most successful female professional poker players in WSOP history, Selbst's return has significantly increased the buzz surrounding this year's WSOP.
Hybrid gaming remains one of the core appeals of the WSOP.
While No-Limit Texas Hold'em still enjoys the highest level of attention, mixed games remain an integral and important part of the WSOP.
In particular, Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better has long been considered one of the most technically sophisticated pool games.
Because players must consider both high and low hand structures simultaneously, the game demands a high level of card reading ability, pot control, and mathematical calculation skills.
Daly also stated after the match that many players often make the mistake of fighting for half the pool in these types of events, which was one of the key reasons why he was able to gain an advantage.
Jason Daly makes a strong start to the 2026 WSOP
For Jason Daly, the greatest significance of this victory may not just be his third gold bracelet.
After the match, he smiled and said:
"It's really good to win a game at the beginning of summer, at least you don't have to lose $100,000 and then slowly make up for it."
With the 2026 WSOP just entering its early stages, Daly has already gained a significant advantage.
