Romanian player Nik emerged victorious from a field of 7,013 players in the inaugural King's Million European Poker Championship €1,150 Super Main Event, winning €546,100 and the Royal Scepter. The tournament's prize pool reached €6,855,207, setting multiple records.
After all eight preliminary rounds of the €1,150 EPC Super Main Event concluded, one name emerged, and after the penultimate day of the inaugural 2026 King's Million European Poker Championship, the same name returned to the top of the leaderboard.
Nik from Romania, fresh off reaching the final table of the €1,000 mystery bounty tournament a week ago, returned to the live tables to complete the mission for the series' biggest prize. He emerged victorious from a field of 7,013 players, claiming the biggest live poker win of his career, taking home €546,100 after a four-way deal and winning the King's Million Royal Scepter after defeating Christophe Vincent heads-up.

"I'm a pro," Nik told PokerNews shortly after winning the title. "I mostly started playing live before Covid, but before that I was playing online since 2010. I've had some good results online too."
This tournament broke the announced guaranteed prize pool, ultimately reaching €6,855,207. King's set several records, including 1,763 participants in Group E on Day 1 alone. Nik was impressed with the inaugural event and even happier to leave with a trophy after several successful years at this venue.

"I think this exceeded my expectations, exceeded the guaranteed bonus. I feel everything is fun, especially when you win, it's very easy."
Leading almost all the way
King's Poker Room was packed for most of the Super Main Event, which spanned the past seven days. Nik started Day 2 with the most chips out of 852 players making the money, but he was only a mid-sized stack at that point. That was the only day he wasn't in the lead, as he returned to the top of the leaderboard on Day 3 with a massive advantage of nearly a quarter of the chips on the board.
“I played as conservatively as possible because you can’t put pressure on the second day,” Nik recalled his mindset when he had a large stack. “They’re going to call huge bets, and it’s not good to bluff too much against them, so you can’t put too much pressure on them. But on the third day, I played pretty conservatively. I had one big bluff at the start of the day, and then I had a really, really hot streak.”
Nik then used King's Resort's live stream to observe his opponents on the final day, which allowed him to develop an attack plan on his way to the final table.
"I observed how to play my best against specific opponents, but I tried to make some adjustments. Apart from that, I knew how to play ICM, which was easy for me. I think I was the most experienced in tournaments, at least at the final table. So I played quite steadily and had a good run of luck."

King's success
Nik has a wealth of experience to draw upon when reaching the final table, and he's once again at the top of the chip leaderboard. Besides his earlier seventh-place finish in this series, Nik also won a WSOP Circuit ring at the €3,000 High Roller event at King's Resort in January, and has made four more final table appearances here since 2023.
"I've had some achievements before, but none as great as this. It's very difficult to achieve better results here."
When the competition narrowed down to four players, the timer stopped, and an agreement was reached to adjust the prize money. This agreement left over €200,000 to be contested, with the top two players receiving additional prize money.
"If I were the chip leader, I wouldn't have accepted the deal," Nik explained. He was third in the chip count, with all four players having at least €400,000 locked in. Nik then quickly doubled with pocket eights and then eliminated Lyubomir in third place with a Queen.

From that point on, Nik had a huge advantage over Vincent and secured the championship with two pair in the final hand. He was then awarded the trophy, a crown, and an outfit for the championship photo.
