Breaking news: Phil Hellmuth finished in seventh place after setting a new WSOP final table record.

Phil Hellmuth finished seventh in the WSOP Event #9:$10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo Championship, earning $54,214. This was his 76th WSOP final table appearance, extending his personal record, but he failed to win his 18th gold bracelet.

Phil Hellmuth had his chance on Monday to shut Shaun Deeb and the other skeptics up.

This Poker Hall of Famer has made it to the final table of the 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Event #9:$10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better. If he can break through with a short stack and win the event, he will claim his record-breaking 18th gold bracelet, his first since 2023.

Hellmuth entered the tournament on Day 3 with a chip stack of sixth place, when there were still 15 players. The tournament was condensed into one table when the number of players was reduced to eight, but the official final table was determined when John Esposito was eliminated in eighth place.

At the start of the final table, Hellmuth had 1,750,000 chips, placing him third. Dylan Weisman held the chip lead in this Omaha Hi-Lo event. All remaining players were guaranteed at least 1TP 4T 54,214 chips, but the champion would take home 1TP 4T 450,176 chips.

According to WSOP.com Hellmuth's profile on the website shows that this final table appearance marks his 76th time reaching the final table in a bracelet event since 1988. This is just one of his many records; he also boasts 17 bracelets, six more than second-place Phil Ivey (11).

If Hellmuth wins the final table on Monday, he will prove Deeb wrong. Deeb has repeatedly predicted over the past year that Hellmuth will never win another bracelet, including in an interview with PokerNews last week.
