PokerStars' Big Game on Tour Season 3 returned, with Loose Cannon and Andy Taylor showcasing their fearless play, leading with a profit of 21,600 ($). UFC star Sean O'Malley made his televised poker debut, only to become the biggest loser.
PokerStars' Big Game on Tour made a strong comeback on Sunday, with the new episode featuring a table full of top pros, a celebrity athlete, and a true "Loose Cannon".
Andy Taylor, a finalist from last season, won a game at Resorts World Las Vegas to become the latest "Loose Cannon." The Loose Cannon refers to a high-stakes televised game where unknown or rising stars receive a $50,000 sponsorship to compete.
In most cases, this Loose Cannon doesn't play "loose" at all, usually waiting to get a strong hand before making a move. But Taylor's case was different; he could only take away the profits accumulated over 150 hands.
Loose Cannon vs. UFC Star
This episode's table lineup includes Taylor, PokerStars ambassador Jason Koon, Randy “3Coin” Sadler, Matt Berkey, and current WSOP Player of the Year Shaun Deeb. It's a classic Big Game lineup, a mix of top pros and recreational players. James Hartigan and Joe Stapleton are teaming up for commentary for the last time, as “Stapes” has left PokerStars to work for the WSOP.

O'Malley, known as "Suga Sean," made his televised poker debut. The UFC star has recently taken up poker as a hobby and has fallen in love with the game. However, he is also the biggest loser at this table after 26 hands, having lost $20,300.
The biggest winner so far is Taylor, who is also the most active player in the game, a stark contrast to most of the Loose Cannons in the past. Taylor has shown a fearless spirit in the face of fierce competition.
Despite losing money, O'Malley displayed remarkable restraint and discipline in one hand. Holding K♣10♣ on a board of 10♠K♥3♣A♠4♥, he minimized his losses with two pair, losing only to Loose Cannon, who held Q♦J♥ (the nut straight), in a $22,000 pot. The situation could have been far worse for the former UFC bantamweight champion.
Taylor, an entrepreneur who also runs a nonprofit, faced some tough situations against more experienced players like Koon and Berkey, sometimes folding to their attacks. However, in a four-handed pot, he successfully semi-bluffed with an open-ended straight draw and 5-high on the turn, forcing Deeb to fold his pocket queens. He then hit the nut straight on the flop, winning a $16,900 pot and concluding the episode.
Loose Cannon finished the first part of the latest episode of PokerStars' Big Game on Tour with a profit of $21,600, bringing his chip stack to $71,600. Koon ($17,100) and Deeb ($2,400) were the other two players who also made a profit.
PokerStars' "Big Game on Tour" will continue airing next Sunday on the PokerStars YouTube channel.
