PokerStars Sunday Million is returning to live events.

PokerStars has announced the return of Sunday Million Live, the iconic online tournament that will take place from October 2nd to 12th at the Campione casino in Italy, marking its second live appearance.

The tournament features a €250 buy-in Main Event with a guaranteed prize pool of €1 million, identical to the original format. The tournament will employ a hybrid format, allowing players to qualify through online and on-site group stages on Day 1, before converging on the shores of Lake Lugano for the final rounds.

This marks the first return of Sunday Million Live since its inception in 2017, and is also part of PokerStars' 25th anniversary celebration in 2026.

Nine ways to advance to the second day

Players will have nine chances to advance to Day Two, choosing between three online Day One groups on September 13, 20, and 27, or six live start groups held on Campione between October 2 and 9.

The top 12.5% players from each group will advance to Day 2 with full chips and are guaranteed a minimum prize of €500. Once a player advances, they cannot participate in any other starting group.

All surviving players will return for Day Two on October 10, with the champion to be decided over the next two days. The final table will be held on October 12 at Campione.

Classic matches, familiar with the format

The format is remarkably similar to the inaugural Sunday Million Live held at the Rozvadov King's Resort in 2017, which attracted 5,045 entries and nearly €1 million in guaranteed prize money. However, despite the overwhelming response, PokerStars hasn't revived the concept in nine years… until now.

Its return coincides with a significant year for the Sunday Million series – PokerStars is celebrating the tournament’s 20th anniversary with a special edition of a $5 million guaranteed event, featuring a phased structure and a reduced $109 buy-in.

Now, after a nine-year hiatus, one of the most renowned tournament series in online poker returns to the spotlight, offering players another opportunity to add the Sunday Million title to their virtual trophy cabinet without having to click "register".
