The Potomac Summer Poker Open returns to MGM National Harbor with a guaranteed prize pool of $1.5 million. The Potomac Summer Poker Open was held from August 5th to 17th at MGM National Harbor, featuring 23 events with a total guaranteed prize pool of over $1.5 million. The Main Event guaranteed $3,000, while the Main Event guaranteed $750,000.


The Potomac Summer Poker Open will return to MGM National Harbor from August 5th to 17th, bringing a 13-day tournament with 23 events and a total guaranteed prize pool of over $1.5 million.

Sponsored by BetMGM Poker, this series offers a diverse mix of games, bounty tournaments, and a $3,000 main event, bringing together players from the Mid-Atlantic and beyond to compete for the trophy.

PokerNews will once again be on-site throughout the series, providing live coverage starting August 9th, the day after the $600 NLH opening event, followed by the day after the $500 Monumental Stack event. The team will then provide comprehensive live coverage of the $3,000 Main Event (August 14th-17th). Daily tournament highlights will also be available via blog throughout the festival.

Potomac Summer Poker Open Full Schedule

The highlight of this series is the $3,000 Main Event, which guarantees a prize pool of $750,000. It features two starting groups (August 14th and 15th) that merge into Day Two on August 16th. The champion will be crowned at the final table on August 17th.

Before that, players will have many opportunities to build momentum. The series kicks off with the $600 NLH Opening Event, a seven-group event with a guaranteed prize pool of $500,000; while the $500 Monumental Stacks guarantees another six-figure prize pool of $100,000.

Hybrid game specialists also have many exciting tournaments to look forward to, including TORSE, Hybrid PLO, 8-Game Hybrid, PLO 8, and Big O; while bounty enthusiasts can aim for tournaments such as Double-Flush PLO Bomb Pots, Five-Card PLO Bounty Tournament, and Cakes Classic Bounty NLH.

Players chasing a Main Event seat will have multiple opportunities to qualify through a series of Main Event Super Satellites held during the series, with five seats guaranteed for each event.
