Graton Resort will host the RGPS Northern California Poker Championship starting August 20th.

The RunGood Poker Series Northern California Poker Championship will be held at Graton Resort from August 20 to 30, featuring 19 trophy events, with the Main Event guaranteeing $300,000.

This poker room in Ronette Park, California, will host the Northern California Poker Championship, sponsored by the RunGood Poker Series (RGPS). The 11-day event features 19 trophy tournaments, including live coverage of the Main Event by PokerNews.

Series Highlights

When the tournament kicks off on the 20th, tournament grinders and recreational players alike will flock to one of Northern California's top poker rooms. The series opens with the $250 Series Opening Event, a No-Limit Texas Hold'em tournament. The games will begin promptly at 11:00 AM.

If you are eliminated too early or cannot arrive at the casino before 5 PM, there is a second event on Day 1 – the $400 PokerNews Power Stack Day 1 Group A, with a guaranteed prize pool of $200,000. Four additional starting groups will be added over the next two days, two each day. Day 2 (the final) will take place on August 23rd at 11 AM.

The schedule also includes some interesting unconventional events to add variety, such as the $300 ($150 per person) PLO/NLH team competition at 5 pm on August 23 – find a partner who is proficient in both PLO and NLH.

If you're a fan of Omaha (not the city), you'll love the $200 double-board bomb pot PLO on August 24th, and the mixed PLO (Big O/PLO/PLO8) on August 26th. This isn't just a series for NLH enthusiasts, but NLH fans will love it too.

Speaking of NLH, the biggest event on the schedule—and the one PokerNews will be covering live from start to finish—is the $1,100 Northern California Championship. The event kicks off Day 1, Group A on August 28th at 10:00 AM, followed by Day 1, Group B at 5:00 PM. Day 1, Groups C and D will be held at the same time the following day. All players with packed chips will return to Graton on August 30th at noon for the final rounds until a champion is crowned.
