Scott Margereson wins EPT Barcelona title, surpassing $5 million in career prize money.

British player Scott Margereson won the EPT Barcelona €2,700 Second Chance event, earning €361,060 and surpassing $5 million in career live payouts. Natasha Mercier and Cherish Andrews finished second and third respectively.

British player Scott Margereson won the €2,700 EPT Second Chance event at the 2026 PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Barcelona Music Festival, becoming the latest poker player to surpass $5 million in live tournament winnings.

Margereson, known in the online poker world as "Aggro Santos," emerged victorious from a massive field of 844 players, winning €361,060 from a total prize pool of €2,046,700. This substantial prize is the third-highest live winnings of Margereson's career, behind only his 2018 $3,500 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Finals win of €696,740 and his 2025 PokerStars Open Malta title of €423,700.

€2,700 EPT Second Chance Final Table Results

The €2,700 EPT Second Chance event awarded prizes to the top 127 players. Players such as Alex Keating, Simon Lofberg, Martins Adeniya, Dominik Panka, Thomas Eychenne, Juha Helppi, Tom Fuchs, and Christian Harder all successfully made it into the money.

Nine players sat at the final table, and when Maksim Panyak ran out of chips, the others gained more space. He finished in ninth place, earning €33,380.

With Maciej Komorowski and Fabio Peluso eliminated, the final table officially entered the short table stage. After Cristinel Dumitru and Canada's Sanjaya Wadhwani were eliminated, the remaining four players were guaranteed at least €123,940 in prize money.

French player Julien Thome won the prize money in fourth place. Thome's live winnings before this event were $124,256, and his total winnings have now more than doubled.

The final three players have a combined career prize money of over $13 million, including two well-known female players, Natasha Mercier and Cherish Andrews.

Andrews was the first of the three top players to go to the cashier's counter, where she won €161,140, bringing her career total winnings just one step away from $5 million.

Margereson and Mercier engaged in a fierce heads-up battle for the championship title and trophy. Margereson ultimately emerged victorious, taking home €361,060. Mercier finished as runner-up, earning €225,580.

Benny Glaser narrowly missed out on the 8-Game championship.

While Margereson battled it out in the €2,700 EPT Second Chance event, several other events were also drawing to a close.

One of them was €3,200 8-Game. Mixed game expert—arguably the best mixed game player in history—Benny Glaser lost in the finals. He lost in heads-up play to Sweden's Max Herulf, receiving only a consolation prize of €33,480; Herulf won €51,730.

Manuel Stojanovic defeated 78 opponents in a €15,000 Pot-Limit Omaha No-Limit Rebuy event to win a prize similar to Margereson's. Stojanovic recently finished runner-up in a $100,000 PLO event at Triton Montenegro, winning €1,402,000. He then went on to win €320,474 after defeating Konstantinos Bouloutsos heads-up in this Barcelona tournament.

EPT Barcelona Main Event continues
