Texas Hold'em has turned a new page in history! The inaugural WSOP Circuit Series concluded successfully at Austin's TCH Social, with 18 gold ring events attracting 11,545 entries and generating a total prize pool exceeding $7 million, setting a new record for the largest series in Texas Hold'em history.
How popular is poker in Texas? The recently concluded World Series of Poker Tour (WSOPC) series, the first WSOP event ever held in Texas, promised at least $2.1 million in prize money across 18 gold ring events.
When registration closed for the final tournament of the series, the total prize money awarded at TCH Social in Austin was almost four times that amount. Texas Card House, one of its six poker clubs across the state, attempted an unprecedented feat—hosting a WSOP-branded series in the "Lone Star State."
