Raminder Singh and Jean Laurent each won four titles at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open (SHRPO), breaking the tournament's record. Singh became the all-time leader in the most titles won at the SHRP, while Laurent tied the record two days later.
In the past few weeks, two players in South Florida have won four tournaments each, not just one, two, or three.
This is about poker, not basketball, and more specifically, the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open (SHRPO), which concludes on Monday. Raminder Singh is proving to his peers in Hollywood, Florida, that he remains the king of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotels and Casinos.
Singh entered the series last month just one title shy of SHRP's record of 17, and he has delivered an outstanding performance in this series. But he is not the only protagonist.
Singh's path to four titles

Singh boasts over $4 million in live tournament winnings on The Hendon Mob. He first defeated 101 entrants in the $400 Blackstack Bounty (NLH/PLO Hybrid) to win $7,015 in prize money plus a bounty.
This was his 17th SHRP tournament title, tying the record. He then secured the $300 Triple Stack Bounty No-Limit Hold'em event by reaching a three-way deal with two other players, winning $6,385 plus the bounty, becoming the sole record holder. The event had 222 entries.
Singh then went on to win again and extend his record after a heads-up deal in the $300 Triple Stack No-Limit Hold'em event. He won $8,374, the highest prize among the 151 participants. Three titles weren't enough for this top player, who calls himself a "true amateur poker player," as he went straight for the $1,100 Deep Stack Turbo No-Limit Hold'em event on August 7th, winning $10,978.
Singh not only broke the record for the most SHRP titles during SHRPO, but he also became the first player to win four titles in the same SHRP series.

Laurent tied Singh's record
Singh is the only player to win four titles in the same SHRP series, but this record only lasted two days. Jean Laurent, who had been away from tournament poker for a decade in the 2010s, also had a remarkable performance in this series.
Laurent had previously won the SHRP title twice. He won outright in the $600 Limit Omaha 8 event, taking home $11,755. In the $600 Mixed Pot-Limit Omaha event, he started heads-up with a chip lead before agreeing to a deal. Having the most chips, he won the trophy and $13,937.

Laurent's third title came in the $600 Mixed Pot-Limit Omaha event, where he won $11,675 after a three-way deal. But the South Florida resident's winning streak didn't end there. On Sunday, in the $400 Deepstack No-Limit Hold'em event, Laurent, as the chip leader, achieved a six-way deal to win $15,367, the highest prize among the 304 entrants, tying Singh's record.
The Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open will conclude on Monday with the $5,300 SHRPO tournament, where 2015 WSOP Main Event champion Joe McKeehen will be seeking another major tournament victory.
