Eliminate poker stars in the WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star tournament to win the bounty. The WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star tournament will be held in San Jose, California, from October 23 to 27. Eliminating a poker star will earn a $2,500 bounty, with a total prize pool exceeding $3 million.


After being revived last year, the World Poker Tour (WPT) Bay 101 Shooting Star Championship will return to the Bay 101 casino in California.

The WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star Music Festival will be held in San Jose from October 16 to November 1, while the $5,300 buy-in tournament will take place from October 23 to 27.

Win the Shooting Star Bounty

The Bay 101 Shooting Star Tournament is a unique event that invites poker stars to serve as Shooting Star bounties. Eliminating one of the Shooting Stars earns you a $2,500 bounty.

"Few tournaments carry the same tradition and prestige as the Bay 101 Shooting Star," said WPT CEO Adam Pliska in a press release. "This event helped shape the history of the World Poker Tour, and we are honored to continue this legacy."

Last year's bounty hunters included poker pros and celebrities Shannon Shorr, Nikki Limo, Matt Salsberg, Chance Kornuth, Justin Young, and Nick Rigby. Of the 23 bounty hunters, Kornuth had the longest journey, making it all the way to the six-man final table before being eliminated by champion Kharlin Sued.

Last year's tournament attracted 672 entries and a total prize pool exceeding $3 million. Florida's Kharlin Sued defeated California pro Danny Wong to win $480,700 with $. The final table also included Alfie Poetra (3rd place, $235,000 with $), Matthew Widdoes (4th place, $175,000 with $), and Daniel Maor (5th place, $132,000 with $).

Other players who made deep runs in the 2025 Bay 101 Shooting Star Championship include Michael Berk (11th place, $43,000), Victoria Livschitz (13th place, $38,000), Nick Palma (16th place, $33,500), and Adam Hendrix (19th place, $33,500).

This year's championship will be held from October 23 to 27. The festival will also host a series of supplementary events of various formats.

The full schedule and the list of Shooting Star bounty winners are yet to be announced.

This fall is going to be very busy for the World Poker Tour. Prior to the Bay 101 Shooting Star tournament in October, there will be several events including the WPT Cyprus Championship, the WPT Florida Bestbet Scramble Championship, the WPT Australia Championship, and the WPT Texas Prime Lodge Championship.
